This would introduce a big parsing headache. Consider for example the PM:

/Lord Vermor Castle

Should this send "Castle" to "Lord Vermor", "Vermor Castle" to "Lord", or an empty PM to "Lord Vermor Castle"? The client has no way to know, and the server would have to search for all possible combinations (which could be ambiguous).

It would be pretty trivial to replace underscore ('_') with a space in the name displayed above a character -- but could lead to confusion if people try to use the name verbatim in PMs.

On a side note - it would have been nice to reserve name prefixes like "Lord", "Sir", "King" etc as titles which could be earned in-game. So if you saw "King Kong" then you would know he was an important character, and not just some monkey :D

should be cool if you complete some quests you can get a title, like 'scout' 'private' etc.. only prob is that it cant be 'sir, king, lord' as they already been used in el-playernames.. maybe it can be made so that only these can be used in names and that the titles you can earn Not.. and those titles can come in blue or whatever colour before your name, or on statspages or statsbots.. and you can see if a guild is really good in stuff, with all the titles they got they can get like a title of their own..

also stripping somone if their title would become a very good light punishment. im sure if this was implimented, players like lord vermor wouldnt mind changing their names (free of charge naturally) so that they could earn the title like everyone else.

Their fault for picking that self-proclaimed rank. :bow_arrow:

Prefixes on existing characters could be stripped in exchange for the corresponding title, assuming the title is purely honorific, and could be lost or demoted if play did not reflect their assumed standing. Duplicate names would have to be sorted out on a first-come-first-served basis.

Not that this is likely to happen.

it would be easy...

all you have to do is change the command to use quotes:

/"king kong" how are you.

or (even more easy...)

/king kong: how are you

The honourific idea sounds cool. Could you (not sure if it is possiable) to have the 'title' in another colour, something that shows that it isn't part of the normal name. Be even better than walking around with a thermal serp. "Bow before me King LemonStar!"
