gadai Report post Posted August 31, 2005 Looks like a Windows memory addressing error (in some heathen language) to me. Usually occurs because of a corrupt program file or (rarely) because the Windows Page File is using an unstable part of the hard drive. Even more rarely it can be caused by insufficient memory (RAM) on the machine but if it was running normally up until now that would seem not to be the case. Hope that helps
LabRat Report post Posted August 31, 2005 A suggestion I would offer would be to reinstall the game to a new folder - it may take a little time but will narrow down .DLL incompatibilities and corrupt files in the EL folder.
GreenWizard Report post Posted August 31, 2005 (edited) Well, actually i did not play the game before, I just created a new char. But as I wanted to log in, the Error came up. I think there is (a other?) problem: After accepting the Rules after each programm start, it sais: GL_ARB_multitexture extension found, using it, Gl_EXT_compiled_vertex_array extension found, using it, Couldn't find the GL_*_point_sprite extension, not using it, Couldn't find the GL_SGIS_generate_mipmap extension, not using it... I thought about loading the newest patch yet, but I already have the 1.0.1 version. @labrat: I'll try. Edited August 31, 2005 by GreenWizard
LabRat Report post Posted August 31, 2005 the "couldn't find" bits only mean that your graphics card and/or drivers don't support those extensions, and you won't benefit from different graphics processing routines ingame. They are not critical. If you get as far as logging in before the crash, it may be corrupt map files - a reinstall will test those too.
GreenWizard Report post Posted August 31, 2005 I reinstalled the game, but the error is still there..
Derin Report post Posted August 31, 2005 What kind of graphics card do you have? Have you updated your graphics drivers?
gadai Report post Posted August 31, 2005 Greenwizard, when you reinstalled did you do it to a new folder as Labrat suggested or simply install 'over' the existing copy of the client? If the second, then it may be that a dud file managed to persist through the installation process, if the first that would seem to indicate a dud file in Windows somewhere which is called by any installation of the client. If the first can you try creating a new character and entering the game? If you can do so successfully it would indicate a difference in the processes used between a standard login and a character creation, perhaps providing someone with MUCH more knowledge of programming a vector to approach the problem from

However; you might wanna try this (if you are running windows): http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRAPHICS-...3-Drivers.shtml

freeone3000 Report post Posted September 2, 2005 If it doesn't work, you don't need an entirly new computer. Just the video card. It works fine on a 64MB Vid RAM GeForce400 MX, which is fairly cheap.
