Placid Report post Posted August 9, 2005 We do know how it gets here. Google.com has what are called 'spider bots'. Automated software that runs around the internet gaining information about certain domains and following links from them. Therefore, the forum links Google.com as it knows the IP and lists it so. chatterbug89 Report post Posted August 9, 2005 Why does everyone always ask this question :S Anyways, it's just as the above said. Invision just has a special feature to reconsize the google spiders and instead of displaying the google spiders as guests, it just says google.com. It's a nice feature that for some reason gets everyone comfused on these forums :S

Tumaros Report post Posted August 10, 2005 (edited) I once found a post in mid-edit during one of my Google-scapades... By entropy o_O "Oh, the possibilities!" :eviltumaros: (ey where'd the evil smiley go) One thing I noticed however...regardless of the 100s of times google's little grapefruit parasites seem to appear in our beloved Members list, there are unusually few results for the "eternal lands" forums. Well, so I search for "eternal lands" + tumaros , so what? Edited August 10, 2005 by Tumaros
Placid Report post Posted August 10, 2005 Lol actually today, the who's online list said google.com was posting... 186815[/snapback] It probably was, like I said; spiders follow hyperlinks, and thats how they generally get around the internet, by following links to/from sites.
