scafativ Report post Posted August 6, 2005 I was walking past a rock outcropping in DP, and noticed a bizarre shadow along the base. It's weird in that it goes all the way around the rock- the shadow is cast equally in all directions. Also- rather than taking the form of the rock, it seems to just follow the base in an angular way. I don't know for sure that it's a map issue- I can't imagine what soft of mistake in map creation could casuse a thing like this, but it seems unlikely to be a software defect, so I though I'd start here. The exact location is shown in the screen capture: Weird Shadow
Sistema Report post Posted August 7, 2005 tee hee ^.^ That's because that 3d object's base(the bottom face/surface) is square. I believe that the shadows and the surface of 3do's have a binding with eachother, even if they are little under the tiles.
Lachesis Report post Posted August 10, 2005 (edited) Let's see if this can be improved. Hmm, not easily, sorry. You can achieve nicer shadows using shadow mapping. Edited August 10, 2005 by Lachesis
