Let me start by giving you a brief runthrough on this child. He is guilty of one of the biggest crimes against any country: treason. Let's also start by giving you the link to his bio as to shorten up this post a considerable amount, although it will still be long: Biography.

 

He is one of the very examples of extremist Liberals that I am against. Why is he labeled as a Liberal? He identifies himself as one. Would you like to know the -extent- of his radicalism? Forsake The Troops.

I know that none of you out there share his views, unless you wish to identify yourself as a traitor to your country (imagine if this was the same for your country. Imagine he was from Poland insulting your military, Germany insulting your military, etc.). Then you're welcome to end your own life, because you won't be missed.

 

Why am I posting this? For two reasons. One is to identify exactly what kind of Liberals I argue with constantly. People even remotely like this young boy (he's my age apparently, but he does not deserve to be called a man) are disgraces to the world of mankind. Two is to show the world what kind of person that does not deserve to live. Please do not state how "oh, he's American and he hates American troops. Not our problem that we're not from America." I can guarantee that he'd say the same about your country if he lived there.

Let's stretch a little deeper into this disturbed boy's past.

 

He hates the military and not the government. Although I don't understand that, that is natural for some to be like: I don't expect all humans to be even semi-intelligent. But what does get me is how he would like the troops to die, but at the same time, won't dare point fingers at the government as they control the military.

 

Now, let's start by looking at exactly why this young boy became who he is now:

 

And, finally, the nutcase apparently TRIED to get into the military and was REJECTED. He wrote the following letter to Press of Atlantic City on Friday, June 11, 1999. It was published on his old website, michaelcrook.com:

 

To my dismay, after a mere two weeks at Fort Benning, despite the fact that I passed every test required to ship to a basic training unit, I was told I was medically unfit for training. On May 7, a month after I left, I walked back into the Philadelphia airport and happily into the waiting arms of my girlfriend, but on my way to being out of the Army.

 

To this day, I am fighting to get back in, through a congressional inquiry and any existing appeals processes. Granted, it has only been a little more than a month since I've been out, but it feels like an eternity.

 

My reason for sharing this is simple. It's apparant that too many people are taking military service for granted.

 

The various branches of the military must practically bribe people to join in the form of sign-up bonuses (mine was $3,000, but I'm being quite honest when I saw that didn't cross my mind when I made the phone call), assistance with college money, and other benefits. These things are all well and good, but they are not good reasons to join the military.

 

hether it be the Army, Marines, Navy, the Air Force, or the Coast Guard, our country wouldn't be where it is today without the valuable service of the countless men and women who have served.

 

Many people in Southern New Jersey and elsewhere don't stop and think about the pride that goes along with serving.

 

I can't describe the pride that I feel every time I see the flag being raised. I felt it a privilege to salute while the flag was being retired at dusk. I can feel the mutual pride and respect when I salute an officer or observe a salute being rendered.

 

Every time I hear the national anthem or the Lee Greenwood song "God Bless the USA", I feel pride in my heart.

 

At the same time, I feel sadness, because I know I'm not on the training field finishing my basic training as I should be. I feel jealousy fill up within me every time I pass a serviceperson in the mall or elsewhere. In a few cases, I've stopped and spoken briefly with them and reminded them how privileged they are to be serving out country.

 

And that is what people should think about when they sign up for the military. It's not just about the pay, the benefits, and the "perks". It's mainly about defending our country and making sure our freedom stays intact.

 

"Freedom isn't free" may be a cliche, but it is very true. Many people, men and women, have died to ensure that we can listen to the music that we do, say whatever we want, and have all the various freedoms that we exercise practically every day and take for granted.

 

Perhaps in November when we observe Veterans Day, and when next May brings Memorial Day, we can think beyond the day off of work and school and remember not only the people who have died in service to our country, but also the countless others who voluntarily leave behind their loved ones to serve in the military.

 

So he's extremely upset over being rejected apparently on medical error. Actually, that was done in his best interests, as I have gone to schools to do recruiting as well and I can promise you that -any- sort of error on a physical will instantly be given all the attention possible. No one is turned away on medical problems unless the recruiting officers and the physicians believe it may endanger their life. The only medical problem I can say he has is extreme stupidity.

 

Please take careful note in the above letter he wrote that condemns him to his own hypocrisy.

 

His anger stems from the military not allowing him to serve. He has also taken credit for other events such as this in his lifetime:

 

This is not the first time Crook has outraged a community. In January Crook found a soldier's digital camera during a Philadelphia Eagles football game. Crook offered to return the camera to the Army specialist, but only if he was paid a thousand dollars.

 

I was only glad to know that the camera later turned up NOT to belong to a soldier.

 

Well, I suppose the cat's out of the bag, so....I'm not dead.

 

To those that sent heartfelt messages, and felt that this was a true story, I truly apologize. This situation quickly got out of hand, when national media outlets called looking for clarification.

 

I honestly thought people would shrug it off, and go on their merry way. I even got a kick out of the numerous hate messages from people, including an e-mail message from this numbnuts:

 

Faking death and trying to blame the attack on two military people, in which the Syracuse police in New York completely denied this. This boy is truly sick in the mind.

 

Well, it still amazes me that people are actually offended by this, and my other site. To those who have hurt feelings, I would only say that you're way too sensitive-- it's just words on a screen. A screen, I might add, that has an "X" in the corner.

It was funny....a Vietnam vet actually recognized me in public and approached me. He didn't threaten me, and was actually quite respectful. In all honestly, it seemed as if he was hurt by the site..he was blubbering some nonsense about losing friends in the conflict. I felt real good telling him off. He just slunk away. All talk, no action. Typical!

 

Funny, in six years time, he transformed from a proud citizen of heroism to a scumbag. He's a modern-day Benedict Arnold. Vietnam veterans will always be superior to him. There is no contestation to that. There is none either in the aspect that any living, breathing person is better than him.

 

In reference to him saying that the Veteran was "all talk, no action," that is funny coming from him. I admire that Veteran because he restrained himself from knocking his teeth in. I wouldn't be able to hold myself back though, so that Veteran has my respect forever.

 

 

 

When he appeared on Hannity & Colmes (a debate show featuring high pitched debate about controversial topics between Hannity, Colmes, and various other guests allowed on the show), both of them finally agreed on something in over several years. Please note that they have been unable to agree on basically anything for a long time but he created a solution to that: attacking a common enemy to the public and humanity.

 

What are your opinions on this folks? Is this what I can expect from the Democratic party from now on? I sincerely hope not, as I know there are good people out there in your party, more than I give credit for. I just hope your party condemns the rise of idiots like this.

 

I am a US Army Soldier of the 3rd battalion 16th FA regiment C Battery out of Fort Hood, Texas. Till I pass away or become unable to serve, I will continue to serve my country, even if it means preserving the freedom of speech for traitors like this. I just can't imagine goons like this being able to sustain freedom and think they will gain support for their obviously flawed opinion. Michael Crook, your opinion is not right. You're not right. Your own child will grow up hating you. You've condemned yourself to a life of being the subject of belittlement, treason, and neglect. This is your path. Follow the path until the day you bite the dust.

I read your whole post and I also read both links above. I agree with you that this guy is an idiot and should be euthanized asap.

 

The problem is he is trying to get a rise out of people. I mean just look at the kind of stuff he writes. If he really felt the way he does he would move to another country.

 

Trust me I am 110% sure he is just trying to piss people off.

 

One last thing, I dont think any person (liberal or anyhting else) would agree with this guy. I would like him to start a web site with peoples name that agree with him. So far all I have seen is people who dont like what he is doing and are fanning the flames by telling him so.

Do you have any idea how appalling this site is? I mean seriously. These thousand plus men that died in Iraq defending your freedom to do this sort of thing did not deserve to die.

 

Freedom is not free. You complain about your precious tax dollars being given to these men and women, but they are paying you back with their lives!!!! Their lives, for goodness sakes! And you sit here on your pedestal and condemn them. Who died and made you ***?

 

I am engaged to a Marine. I worry about my fiance day in and day out. He's going to Iraq next year. You don't know what life for them is like. You have no right to judge.

 

You realize that without our troops our country would mostly likely be split in half with the eastern half of the country ruled by Fascist Germany and the western half by Japan? Because without American troops the result of WWII would have been oh so different, I assure you.

 

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but to actively bash and degrade the people who risk their life upholding the ideals that make this country great and allow you to spew your poisonous garbage is downright evil.

 

It would serve you right if a disgruntled troupe of military men did find you...I'd pay to see the outcome of that.

I will be speaking to Gary W. Miguel soon, possibly in the next two to three days. He is the Chief of Police of the Syracuse Police Department and I will be checking if they plan to file any criminal charges, although I doubt they will. Freedom of speech kind of saves his ass from being prosecuted, but I know there is a loophole in the system somewhere. I want to see bastards like this locked up.

This story could have ended 6 years ago, and at least the man would have some shred of respect from me, though I may never heard of him. He enlisted, and they couldn't take him. The point, he was no different than the people he talks against, except he goes deranged over the fact that he, Mr. Self-Important, gets turned down.

 

If he knew any of the legitimately unenlistable getting drafted during Vietnam, he MIGHT have a different tune.

 

Now, the man is clearly living an enraged delusion, somehow the military must be evil, because he got rejected... He's lost any shred of respect he may have had, and now attacks the army as brutally as Al Qaeda, all because he didn't get his "leechings" (using his own terminology).

 

Seriously, I think the guy has allowed his rage to stew to the point where it has taken over him. He's lashing out against the thing that he considers did him wrong, but by attacking the very people who did the same thing he did, just because he didn't get what he feels he is owed.

 

I don't think most people actually go into a battle saying, "I hope I die!" No, we understand that, when bullets fly, the inevitable truth is that someone WILL get hurt, and it may be fatal. Using the same logic, everytime I go get my mail (rural box on a post across the street), I'm choosing to get hit by a car. Just because a car MAY be coming, and MAY run into me, means I WANT that to happen. Fuzzy logic.

Kudos to the Vet that walked away. If I had been there, he could have stayed and watched community and national pride in action. I am ex-forces, as are several of my close friends and relatives. I get pretty testy with folks who cant appreciate what the folks in uniform (any uniform) do for their country.

 

I hope that his 15 minutes of fame is worth the lifetime of shame. I also hope that some charity group out there will be able to provide a pshrink for his kid.

I dont know about Russia or Romania but I was born in Tehran Iran during the revolution and I know first hand about the lack of "perks" there. I mean the day we left, I was around 5 years old and the soldier gaurding the entrance of the airpost refused to let my family in because I was not wearing a scarf on my head.

 

But thats not the worst of it. One of my earliest childhood memories is going to an outdoor market with my mom and seeing a van speed into the busy market, skid to a stop, and 4 armed females wearing full black head to toe burkas poping out and grabbing a lady who's scarf had slipped a bit to show her hairline. They took a thumbtack and pinned her burka between her eyebrows.

 

Even worse then this, I remember after the revolution had settled a bit the soldiers would come to our house every weekend, just cuz my father was on a "watch" list. They would search our whole house, turning everything upside-down and if they found anything they considered "contraban" they would haul my father way to get whipped. What do I mean by contraban? Pictures of Jesus (My family is catholic) or pictures of the old king, history books that did not reflect the current teachings of the new administration, and of course the worst of the worst, any type of alchohol.

 

I remember being on the roof of our house with my dad and screaming down at the protesting student, "Death to the iatola komeni." I also remember my mom screaming and cry when again the soldiers came and dragged my dad away because of his viewpoint.

 

I dont know about the freedoms in other countries but I know that compared to what we had in Iran, America is paradise.

 

In fact this country is so fair that an idiot like Crook can talk all he wants and most people will just write him off as another nutcase. Can you imagine how horrible it would be if Bush sent out a few henchmen to have people offed if only for thier opinions?

There isn't anything you can do from a legal perspective about one's opinions no matter how reidiculous, obscene or endegering they are to others (or so i think). They are just his opinions. I believe he is a mentaly deranged individual who takes profound pleasure from the death of others and society will either find a way to normalize him or marginalize him. I think the latter one is happening since everybody thinks he is an idiot.

 

 

However believe it or not we need ppl like him in our society. They act like probes (involuntarily) to check if there trully is freedom of speech. The moment ppl like him dissapear (and that can happen in many ways be it through lynching, imprisonment, or what not) then you can be sure that 1984's Big Brother is taking things on his hands.

 

And i'll close with a quote from Voltaire who once said: " I may not agree with a word you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."
