Reflections At The Meditation Pool

Recommended Posts

Ripples on the surface, distorting perceptions.

Life is full of ripples, we do not see what is truly there.

A bird sings from atop a wall, seeking a mate.

Passing through life alone, that's hardly a life at all.

The sun beats down upon the land, spreading warmth.

We need warmth in our heart, else there's no hope for us.

A leaf falls from a tree, settling by the waters edge.

All things follow cycles, changing as times pass.

The bird returns to its nest, settling for the night.

We all need to take a break, mind and body do not appreciate overwork.

The sun dips low, following its unending journey.

We must accept the cycles of nature, we can not change them.

The sun dissappears, with dazzling colours of sky.

Ends come to all things, sometimes spectacularly.

Light retreats, darkness follows.

An end to one, a start of another.

The moon begins to shine, no longer hidden in plain view.

We ignore so many things, seen but not noticed.

The stars twinkle, distant though they are.

Things may greatly affect us, though they may be largely unseen.

The moon passes over, tracing its ancient path.

Some things are unchangable, working best as they are.

The animals of the night hunt, as did the animals of the day before them.

The cold attacks, nature can be harsh.

We must be prepared for what comes our way, and accept it.

The animals of the night retire, night draws to an end.

The cycle of nature is steady and predictable.

The moon slips beyond the horizon, time passes on.

All cycles have an end, passing on to a new beginning.

The sky lightens, speaking of the approaching day.

Many warnings come to us, few are noticed.

The sun breaches the sky, blinding in brightness.

Even of the warnings known, many are ignored.

The day is dawned, another monk approaches.

The day of meditation by the pool is over.
