Whitestone city’s clash.

Inside a small lovely house in Whitestone the rays of the morning sun had filled the room with bright light. Despite the happiness inside the house, its owner wasn’t in good mood. Jed was thinking about all these stuff going on in the city. He looked at Aluwen’s little statue thinking about the worshippers of Mortos that were against them. “Everybody knows the fact that Aluwen and Mortos are enemies but why all this? Yesterday some Mortos worshippers had a fight at the city square with some of Aluwen’s and as a result, an Aluwen worshipper lost his left eye. Why all this violence?†Thought Jed while he was putting his fur cloak on and was going to Aluwen’s temple. When he arrived there all the worshippers were gathered inside praying.

Jed waved hello to Raydon, a friend of his. Some time had passed when loud shouts were heard outside the temple. A group of people with black robes covering their faces had killed the temple’s guard. They threw torches into the temple’s curtains that were covering the big clear windows. Flames covered the big curtains and the wooden walls of the temple started to catch fire too. The people inside the temple tried to get out of the building but the riots had blocked the main exit.

-Don’t panic! shouted priest Agamaar. Get into the secret exit!

The priest opened a secret hatch which was leading into a dark cellar. Everybody stepped into the hatch and got out of the cellar through a small door. In a few minutes everyone were safe and sound. A few minutes later the militia arrived but it was too late to save the temple…the Mortos worshippers burnt it to the ground. Flames swallowed the building and its roof collapsed.

-This time Mortos worshippers have gone too far! Said Koben. This cannot last longer! We must take action at once! I call all the religious and Aluwen’s servants in Whitestone to come here and decide what we will do about the problem! We must all gather at 4pm at the city’s square to see what to do! Come armed because we don’t know what will happen!

Everybody departed. Jed and Raydon left together.

-Let’s go at my place Raydon, said Jed.

Jed was very frustrated. This time the Mortos worshippers had gone too far. Suddenly a man with a black robe passed by them. He was one of the men that burnt Aluwen’s temple! Jed couldn’t control himself he took his steel sword off and said to him:

-If you are a real man come here!

The black robed man silently raised his hand. Small flame arrows came out of his finger that hit Raydon onto his chest. He fell down. Dead.

Jed rushed on the murderer and rammed his sword onto his chest. Blood was everywhere. The man was dead as well as Raydon. Jed looked at the corpses and let out a small cry. He killed. He heard steps. Some men were coming there, so he decided to run and hide somewhere until the meeting at the square. He hid under a small abandoned wagon on a side street. He couldn’t believe that Raydon was dead. But he took revenge for him.

Seconds became minutes and minutes became hours. At 4pm there was rain falling down. The streets were wet. Jed went to the city square. Almost half of the city was there. All of them were Aluwen’s servants. Koben started talking. He was talking about the dead Mortos worshipper and Raydon. Everyone decided not to let any Mortos servant alive in the city. Everyone shouted: “death to Mortos servants!†The city guards tried to make them get back in their homes but shouts stopped them. Men filled the square by all alleyways that were connected to it. They were Mortos worshippers. The fanatics started fighting together. Jed took his sword off. Next to him an enemy swiveled his sword and killed an Aluwen servant. Jed stabbed him at the chest and the Mortos servant collapsed. Some militia and guards arrived but they were killed by the fanatics. For many moments bodies were falling, screams were heard and blood was split everywhere….

While they were fighting together the city was in flames…some fanatics were burning the houses of their neighbors just because of their beliefs. The kids and women were fleeing to Grahm’s village nearby feared by the clash in Whitestone. Suddenly the cloudy sky became clear. A loud clear voice was heard by everyone in the land: â€You filthy fanatics! You kill your friend just because he is different? You kill your friend just because he believes in another God? Violence leads to violence. Violence doesn’t solve anything! “. The sky became clear and blue again and white pigeons started to fly everywhere. The men started to look each other. “What have we done? They said. We destroyed our own city!†Everybody threw their swords away.

Aluwen’s temple was built again by builders who believed in Mortos. Everybody forgot their differences and became friends again. They started building their city again. It needed work, but they did it…because they were working all together.

---THE END---

We mustn’t try to solve our problems violently. There are many other ways to solve them.
