Alchemists on Strike!

Recommended Posts

I think the assumption is being made that all alchemists are harvesters aswell, as the two jobs go hand in hand.

The same is true for nearly any other producing skill. Potionmaker need to harvest flowers and crystals, crafter need to harvest gems. Only manufacturers don't need to harvest anything. So this strike should include potion and crafting skills as well, imho. That's why I said from a role-playing point of view, you can't include harvesting and therefore should not argue with bad working conditions.

I agree that there is need of some change to the economy, but imho this is not the way to establish a change. If the goal is reached, and alchemists get more money for their items (whether essences or bars), this union will enforce the other trades to even become more self-sufficient as it is now, instead of playing their role and buy the resources they need from the alchemists. Currently a crafter can imho not buy the ingredients (inside a guild maybe, but not in general) because it's already too expensive and they can't earn any money for the prices that go for jewelry if they are in need to buy the items.

For those reasons I decided to refuse further support to this union. I think it's no solution to the current market situation.

COUNT ME IN

The prices are CRAZY

6.66 gc for a MAGIC ESSENCE

3-5 gc for a FIRE ESSENCE

(market channel and store)

And about the crafting thing the prices are great for that

(about...maybe 150-200 gc per tele ring)

maybe a little less

Maybee you dont get the roleplaying aspect of it, but the point of the working conditions is just to add some fun to it. I dont think anyone truely wants the developers to change how, and what the caves look like. And i dont think having more or less rats hovering around anybody's ankles will make alot of difference. But it just has this mentality much like real life where miners in general live with the worst conditions to work in. So have some fun with it :D

The prices are ok if you are self-sufficient. But if you play your roles you should have to buy the resources. Now think of increased essence and bar prices and it will become really bad.

Together with 7-15 sec for crafting each ring/med and 5-10 sec to polish a gem (which have an incredibly high fail rate compared f.e. to bars, especially diamonds) and even 3-5 sec for gold/silver rings/meds, 150-200 is way too less. Additionally polishing a gem costs 10/30gc fixed each, for the gem sander(s) you need. Celine, who is crafting level 32 has approx. 10-15% fail rate, no matter which item (bars, rings, meds, manu items) but with polishing this increases to 20-30%.

The prices are great for buyers :( but if crafting is your business, the prices are really bad, imho.

#5 alchemist here, count me on ! Anyway im not selling anything, cuz it is not worth to... since delays update i stopped making bars (too long and too boring to make) and most essences (only making FEs and Hes now - guess why ?) and bars only for my own use.

And about hiring harvesters to supply you...rofl, prices are so low that i will losing not gaining money on that business... try to buy 1 chys and 2 silver and sell HE :S

There is no job like pure harvester, only ppl like Crannog can hire some, but not cuz high alchemy, just because he is high manu and he can make high-end stuff for good money...

I will stand with you. I hate making essences only to see my hard work rewarded with nothing more than a few coins.

Whats the point ?, truly those that continue to make them will be earning money you could be getting. In the end your going to be down however much their getting.

Also if you make excess and can't sell it, why not just keep it stashed if its essences or even donate it to your alliance..It will be used eventually.

HoneyBee (updated) Dao guild is in full support, read the logs

Lies..

manufacturers don't need to harvest anything

With the ingredients bought from a alchemist you cant make a profit, second if you would try to do sell them for a profit. At the time leveled up manu you can start playing EL 3.

I need to level manu by EG. making iron bars: sell them to the blacksmith (or make iron helmets from them) then buy leather and thread for pants or something like that...

So crafting & manufacturing are just sideskills from alchemy from my point of vieuw..

As for the Role playing part.... I WANT TO SELL ME HE's! :(:P

LOL….

Strike that's rich.

The market is flooded with essies?

Then you better subsidize…

I could make 5000 HE's tomorrow and sell them on market… but instead I'll let you pay me 1gc each not to make them…

Any takers???

:( While I can't say that I think lower essence prices, (HE LE FE), need to be increased by much if at all, I really like to see the alchemists working as a group, and I support anyone who wants to make a positive change on the economy.

<_< It's my opinion that the concept of making FE's or LE's for enriched essences is the problem with flooded essence market. The solution is either to change it so EFE and ELE aren't a random chance item, (which I'd like but no one will ever agree with), or for the high level alchemists to stop making these lower level essences. I understand the concerns with making 5k FE's and only getting 15k for em... So why make em? Make bars, since the bar market is nowhere near saturated.

:P Similarly, I'm considering holding a harvester's strike, to try and up the buying price of lilacs. Yeah, it's easier than harvesting tit ore, but it should be worth more because it's a pain to do. (Right, I'm sarcastic, but why stick to the saturated market when you could make better things for more exp and sell them at a higher rate? If they're too hard to make, or you'd rather get the EFE's, then stick to making them, but you do so with the understanding that you're adding fish to a fully stocked pond.

Reboot is right, some of the best stuff in the game is like 10k right? So what are you whining about? It's not like you train with the best stuff (if so, sorry but your incedibly stupid) after you buy your armor/weapons/cloaks/books theres hardly anything to acually spend money on if you get bored. Sounds to me your just trying to get attention.
