SaintV Report post Posted February 9, 2005 I suggest that the "godless" perks description should be changed to "can't serve EL limited 'gods'" instead of "any god" for those of us who are religiously concious. Please do so... those 8pps are calling... lol.

Ghrae Report post Posted February 9, 2005 The perk relates to the game. "God" is not a character in the game so it doesn't matter. Not to be insensitive, but your religious beliefs outside of EL are unaffected by taking a EL perk. You might notice that when you eat some fruit there isn't a disclaimer that you ate game fruit. We really don't think that people eating game fruit think it's a substitute for eating in real life. Likewise, taking a game perk is not a substitute for real life relgious beliefs. SaintV Report post Posted February 9, 2005 I understand. I know it does not apply to real life, but it has some mental lingering. Kinda like trust/faith - you should be behind your friends but then joke about having friends. Not serious but its there.
The_Pale_Elf Report post Posted February 9, 2005 Yes, but, it says "gods", plural, and for Christian beliefs there is only one "God". Thus it is not as offensive to Christians as it is to those who are polytheistic. Wiccans, Pagans, casino patrons, etc may be outraged by this. Therefore I think instead of using 'gods', the deities that be should be referred to as 'gooboblies', and the perk should be 'ixnay on the oobobliesbay'. And hey, you eat 'fruit" in this game?? That's offensive to people who are regularly called fruits... And what's this metal, 'tit'? You can't even say 'tit serp' on the radio! And another thing, why do all the animals look chubby? That's offensive to fat animals! What if you're an overweight deer, and you see the pudgy (tho cute) deer in the game, and you end up so deep in depression that you go out and eat a chocolate covered forest!? Seriously tho, I know many people are very tight with religious references, and while this post was joking, I'm not making light of anyone's religious beliefs. I just think the issue here was a little over the top, and should be treated with a level of acceptance.
Acelon Report post Posted February 9, 2005 If you take a game literal, don't play it. God teaches killing others is wrong, whats next, your gonna say it should be called a PTN map istead of PK? (Player train nicely). Jeez, keep religon and game separate.
Kenneth916 Report post Posted February 10, 2005 SaintV, The wording doesn't matter... remember that it is your character that is going athiestic not you.
