Korhil Report post Posted May 17, 2005 a bit random I know, but it really only applies to UK, is any one watching the repeats of League of Gentlemen on BBC2? It's on tuesdays (today), only two episodes in, watch it if you didn't catch it originally back in 1999. Even if you did see it first time round you have a moral duty to watch it again. What's all this Tubbs!? We'll have no trouble here! This is a local shop for decent people!
Gunslingers Report post Posted May 17, 2005 Yes I am Korhil Quite nice to see something decent on the tv for a change from all the "reality-tv I'm a celeb without a career" malarkey. Did you see the clip of their upcoming flim LoG - Apocalypse on the Jonathan Ross show friday night? Looks like its going to be well worth the wait.. just hope we dont have to wait as long for this as we are having to wait for the Red Dwarf film! Tubbs: You lied to me Edward. You lied to me. There is a Swansea... and other places. Tubbs: Will heaven be like Swansea? Edward: Yes, Tubbs. Only... bigger.
Korhil Report post Posted May 17, 2005 Lol yes I did see the trailer, very amusing it was too! I als saw the one wth Tubbs on the toilet: "I've made a little brown fish!" How's the rpg forum/site thing coming along? I can't code or anything but if there's anything I can do, just ive me a shout, i'd be happy to help out. JaneMuffin Report post Posted May 18, 2005 .....Dear god I hope not.. after, what, eight series? It was looking pretty bad... not very funny either... 162946 Hay now! I may not be a brit but I wont stand for this rubbish talk about Red Dwarf!! (Did my accent hit the right high notes? ) Red Dwarf Rocks! JaneMuffin (Okay so I have to watch it on video secondhand, and I dont get half of the jokes, but the other half are very funny, and it helps me to improve my wanna-be Brit persona )
Tanyia Report post Posted May 18, 2005 OMW...Red Dwarf, Monty Python=funny crap if I ever saw it. I wanna go to England again!!!! *throws a fit* Yes, I visited once. And Placid, it rained the whole time. It was summer.
Korhil Report post Posted May 18, 2005 Red dwarf should not be placed in the same sentance as Monty Python. repeated use of the word "smeg" does not constitute comdey, though Cat was amusing for the first couple or series'. For great British comedy you need to look at Fawlty Towers, Little Britian, The Fast Show, and that's about it I think... The office was funny, but more cringingly embarrassing... Most of the comedy over here is american. Scrubs (which I love) Friends (endless re runs) will and grace, fraiser (which was genius), there are seemingly infinite amounts of crappy american comedies on after midnight, things like The Pitts, which seem purposely designed not to offend anyone... JaneMuffin Report post Posted May 18, 2005 The Pitts, which seem purposely designed not to offend anyone... 162976 Hay thats how all of America is now Lets all hug now and sing Kum Ba YA!! But back to teh subject, I really enjoy Monty Python and Red Dwarf, must have a warp sense of humor, I also LOVE "Are you being served" That show is genious!! JaneMuffin Well all Brits are geniouses, but thats another subject entirely
