King Richard Silverstrand the Iron-Plated ruled the land of Nexium with a cold stare of blue - black eyes, beauty challenged by no man, a wit surpassed by no one, and the strongest sword arm in the world... Or so he thought.

Moonlight felt his steel - tipped lance crash against his opponents plate mail. He felt the crunch of bone and the warm gush of blood. He felt satisfaction. He had won. Again.

This was the 19'th tourney Moonlight had won in 2 months. He stepped up to the dais to accept his reward - a peacock feather and 1,000 gold shillings - from King Richard of Nexium.

King Richard Silverstrand had, by now, grown used to this. In honor of his recently deceased father, he was holding a series of tournaments, lance, sword, and mace, for a full 3 months. There had been 19 tournaments so far. A strange youth with a crest of a Moon with a golden sword struck down the middle of it had won each and every one. When asked to remove his helmet in front of the king to accept his prize, he declined. Each of the 19 times. No one knew the name of this strange man... except for a selected few...

It was now 10:30 at night of the same day and Moonlight was riding home on his dapple grey charger, Hawk.

"Long day, eh Hawk?" said the battle - worn warrior.

The warhorse snorted.

Some ways later down the road...

"Halt!", a deep voice called from the darkness. Moonlight could just make out the sillouhette of a large broad - shouldered man.

"Throw down your weapons and purse! Then step off your horse and come forward, slowly!", a new voice said. Upon closer inspection Moonlight saw 7 men.

Moonlight smiled.

After not complying, the large bandit repeated his orders. Moonlight did not move.

"Fine then!", he said, "Prepare for a fight! Are you ready?".

'Am I ready? Ask yourself that question.' Moonlight thought.

Without warning Moonlight spurred his charger forward, trampling one of the highwaymen.

Moonlight jumped off his horse, rolling when he hit the ground. He came up and as he did so sunk his fist right into the gut of one of the bandits, then he elbowed him in the nose, driving the bone in the bridge of the nose into that man's brain.

Moonlight ducked just in time to avoid an arrow that would have hit him squarely in the heart.

He took out a throwing dagger and threw it at the archer. It hit and killed the man instantly.

Drawing his sword, Moonlight proceeded forward, decapitating three of the bandits as he strode toward the bigger one that seemed to be the leader.

The leader grinned...

Without pausing Moonlight ran his sword through the leader's neck.

After cleaning his sword off on the man's shirt and sheathing it, he re - mounted his horse, Hawk, and continued home...
