cumulatives effects

I understand why the effects of def potions are not cumulative. but the effect of the potions should be cumulative whith the gods blessings, because these "extra points" don't have the same origin.

 

for example :

drinking a def potion give 5 def points (devreasing 1 per minute)

being blessed by def god gives 8 def points (devreasing 1 per minute)

 

but drinking def potion and being blessed within the same minute only gives +8 where it should give +13

+13 that quite big differents which why is way is because they don't want be able make be able make like tit long sword for example if was manu by potion and blessing.
