A whole lot of different things, I enjoy writing most of all, next to gaming at least
  1. Thread

Not a valid argument at all, you can't compare 20 cotton with 3 sapps, 2 quartz, 2 Blue lupines and 2 blue star flower. Its a lot easier to get 20 cotton than the "only" 9 ingredients that you refer to. Even if only counting number of different trips.Believe me, getting the 9 ingredients I'm referring to is much faster for me than getting 20 cottons. You just have to know the good places. You have to remember the 10k gold coins you have to spend on saphire mining and thats not counting the crystal books and the experience to lvl up to the point where you can harvest saphires. Thread is how I got my start in crafting, I'm still making it as I read the ring books; I never liked the idea of having to buy gold bars or wait till lvl 35+ in 2 skills to make them, thread gave me soemthing to work with, and it helped me get to the point where I was a lvl 30 harvester because I had a reason to work for it, I know I'm probably nowhere near the lvl most of you are but to me it makes sense in the crafting skill.
  2. New client menu mock-up

Well, right now we have a magic button which we use only for casting spells, at least the first time, then if they're any good they get added to the quick bar. We also have the manufacture window which gets used for everything from manu, to alc to summoning and then some. Manufacturing, alchemy, crafting, potions and engineering all really fall under the category of making things but summoning could be classified as something altogether different. Why not simply have a new button at the bottom for summoning. Clicking that displays a window that shows only items used for summoning; bones, furs, LEs etc and just like we have the sit and walk buttons on the main bar we could have an agressive and defensive button in the new window, this way, summoning is relatively unchanged, it just means instead of using the manu window you use the summon window. By making a windows specifically for summoning it might even encourage more people to try it out. Thats just my 2 cents, its simple and won't clutter up the game screen because size wise it shouldn't be any bigger than the magic window. We could also add a switch to the quick bar so you can add summon to it and just switch between the magic quick bar and the summons quick bar, I think that would be kinda neat
  3. Baking, Brewing, Minor edibles

It is a good idea except with one problem, currently, food items cannot be stored which would require you to eat all of your bread right away or sell it off and the same with mead and wine, they would have to be used to make potions right when you made them.
  4. Buyable nexuses

I was sure I had replied in this topic but I can't seem to find my post. I like the idea of being able to buy a nexus in general, but the hefty price tag makes it almost unrealistic that most players will even consider it, I myself, while a low level player in the grand scheme have been around for almost a year now in one incarnation or another either as LordGordon or AlphaOmega my current character and having watched some of the evolution of this game, some things with which I did not agree and some things I welcomed with open arms I have to say that I am of the opinion that this will play out in one of two ways; 1: Hyrdo bars flood the market making them significantly cheaper and thus providing an exploit to the system being discussed, this is precisely the problem that currently exists with gold coins and other merchandise. 2: The exclusive use of hydro bars will form something of a clique whereby the "rich" players who have the cash or resources to purchase/create hydro bars become something of an exclusive club, alienating the mainstay of the new userbase, the result of which is that the high level players will gain access to a feature which the little guys will never be able to access because most new players don't last long enough to learn about these features, hidden secrets such as the way to C2 is one thing, but providing a resource that can only be utilized by high level players is soemthing completely different. Now I understand that high level players can soemtimes take months to level up and I am not unsympathetic to that, as a new player harvesting lilacs it seemed to take forever to level up, for high level players the frustration is only compounded by the fact that every pick point spent is a potential regret because it will take so long to replace it. As such my suggestion on this issue is two fold; Firstly, based upon talking to many newbies, statisticaly, the first pick points are often spent on Physique and Coordination, the primary reason being that once newbes learn that they can sell vegetables to taverns or lilacs to flower shops they want to earn money quickly to buy weapons, armor, food etc. They do this at least until they are able to generate income by an alternate means; just like everyone else in the game. Obviously some players rely on this more than others, a possible solution to this is simply to increase the newbie carry capacity to 140, while not the same as spending all 5 initial pick points the solution is two fold, firstly the newbie fills up the maximum experience for the first hour of the game with only one sitting, this teaches them the maximum they can obtain from harvesting and that the game requires patience. This will play out directly by involving the Tutorial NPC, have an initial quest that the Tutorial NPC gives upon completion of the training quests. This quest could be as simple as collecting a full Inventory of either Rabbit Furs, Beaver Furs, Lillacs, Vegetables or other such items that may be found on IP, or added to IP if necessary. The NPC would inform the new user that it will teach them of the Nexus system and provide them with 1 free Nexus entirely of their choice, the NPC would explain the benefits such as providing access to higher level manufacturing items or the ability to wield/wear better weapons/armor, or the ability to create stronger potions; in essence you are providing the user with information which will aid them on their journey through eternal lands. Now, I mentioned the solution was 2 fold; Secondly, if the Nexus are to be sold then the "price" should vary with each purchase, the counter system already in place allows for counts of all items manufactured, creatures killed, deaths etc, I propose a new counter for Nexus bought, the base nexus could be listed that one has and every time one is bought the count increases, this would not include nexus purchased from the wraith with pick points, only from the Nexus NPC, the catch to this is that while the first Nexus would cost say 500 gold coins, the second might cost 1500 gold coins, the third, 5000, the fourth 100 Gold Bars, the fifth, 10 titanium chain mails, some variable cost proportional to the number of nexus being bought, this way all players have access to the system and at least access to the first 3 nexus relatively easy; after that it becomes more a case of having to work the markets or create the items required much like they hydro bars only in a way that represents the whole userbase, not just high level players. I hope this has come across clearly enough, I just got home from working the nightshift and I'm a little tired but I would appreciate comments on this both good and bad. Thankyou.
  5. "Buyable Nexus" Poll

I voted no, purely and simply because hydro bars aren't a viable commodity for a nexus, it would turn this into an exclusive reward for the rich players, rich meaning either having the cash to buy the bars or having the time to spend actualy pursuing all of the requirements to procure them.
  6. El T-shirts

That'd be freaking hilarious lol I'd deffinately buy those.
  7. Gilin's Quest, after lvl 5

Ok, now it seems to be working just fine, that is wierd, maybe it was because I had no money...checking that now...yup, it happens when you don't have any gold coins in your inventory.
  8. Gilin's Quest, after lvl 5

I have the EL 1.3.0 Let me check it again and I'll post again.
  9. I like this too because the vial breaking is seriously hurting the potions skill, there needs to be a work around, this would most deffinately work.
  10. Gilin's Quest, after lvl 5

Really? That is wierd. Maybe I'll check it out again later and see.
  11. El T-shirts

Have you guys thought about using Cafe Press, you could get all of the logos and pictures and things on more than just a t-shirt then, backs, mugs, caps, t-shirts, hoodies, notebooks too I think, usualy the shirts are only in black or white though. Just a thought, heres a link if you wanna check it out. Cafe Press An example category from a fan group I used to belong to, includes shirts, mugs, caps, journal, mouse pads etc... Harperchondriacs Cafe Press
  12. Newbies and The Cooldown

One of the big bugs with the newbies is the quest log; most of them are coming in and having to talk to the tutorial npc severla times before they understand everything, they don't realise the quest log tracks the most recent entries, unfortunately, by doing so the quest log gets screwed up and you can't make heads or tails of it, mine right now looks like giberish because I've had 3 different people play on this computer and my quest log didn't seem to differentiate between the accounts. I never experienced newbie island but it sounds like a good idea, the people I have talked to about it said they had fun there, maybe if it was brought back it might make all the difference.
  13. Gilin's Quest, after lvl 5

I recently completed lvl 5 of Gilin's Manufacturing quests, once I did so when I talked to his priest again to get a blessing the final part of the conversation window mentioned Unolas, see screenshot. If this is normal then I appologize for brining it up but it doesn't seem normal, especially when clicking on any of the responses results in nothing, including goodbye.
  14. Well I know there are a lot of people who don't want quest help posted so I'll make this as brief as possible; I've just completed the 3rd part of the Gilin quest tree and I need some clarification on the 4th, who would I contact about this or can that person contact me via PM and I'll ask the question there please?
  15. Player Adavantages

As has been said though, within a day you would overcome the advantage, a real class advantage would be experience wise, such as dwarves having 2 points additional manu or craft exp per item, humans having more a/d and elves having more harv or mag exp per item, 1 or 2 points won't make a whole lot of difference later in the game, early on though it might make a huge difference to progression, until about level 15-20 anyway. Also, I sorta have a quest in the works which would bring advantages like this into the game, like I said though, only with 1 or 2 points, I'll be contacting the admins in a few days to share it with them.
