I think you are missing the point. You do this every day, multiple times a day. That is not "after 1 WC". The issue doesn't disappear each time you do it, it doesn't disappear each time the sun rises, nor does saying "WC" make it go away. And to answer your question, yes others get muted or kicked if they do it repeatedly. Key word, repeatedly.

I've been having a horrible time with 22.04 LTS. I use it on a laptop to host a guard bot and also have a discord client and regular alt client on it and it repeatedly just shuts down willy nilly. Research guided me to troubles with systemd-OOMD but I'm still having trouble after shutting that down. I don't normally run Ubuntu but wanted it on this extra laptop so it would coincide with somebody else's laptop if they ever needed help. I'm not liking it at all and not sure what to look at. Also there seems to be headaches with snap but I haven't pinned those down yet. I stopped the discord client and put the extra alt back on my main Arch box, and just have the guardbot there. I am going to try to narrow down the problem one item at a time. I also put up System Monitor to see how the CPU and memory and swap are doing.

That is not your public IP, or external IP as it's called. What you changed is your local IP. Nobody is going to see your local IPs. If you are opening up ports, such as if you are running and hosting your own website, then you might need to have concerns. It sounds as though possibly your ISP decided to start blocking port 2000. Another possible thing to try is to reboot your router/modem.

192.168.x.x is your computer's internal IP within your own home. Each computer you have running in your home is 192.168.x.x. Your public IP is the IP all those computers in your home meet up at your router and connects to somewhere else, like EL or any website you want to browse, etc. For example, the IP I see you connecting from when you post on these forums is not 192.168.x.x nor has it ever been.

Tovin, what do you mean by your "private network"? Are you trying to log in from work maybe and they might have realized it and shut down port 2000? Are you trying to log in from a proxy such as Tor, or vpn? Wherever you try to log in from, you must connect from that network with the EL client you downloaded and installed to www.game.eternal-lands.com, which is the server that EL is hosted on, through port 2000. If the route is blocked somehow, such as port 2000 blocked, that's out of our hands and something to do with the path your client is taking to reach www.game.eternal-lands.com.

I noticed on a new alt character I made on an Ubuntu laptop (not what I run Aislinn on), I couldn't see any customs. I noticed there were no custom_clothes.zip or unofficial_custom_clothes.zip files in .elc folder so I tried #update and #update_status and got this error message: [00:41:40] EL custom updates: Can't get update list file 'custom_files.lst' from server 'www.eternal-lands.com' using path 'http://www.eternal-lands.com/updates/', error 301. In Aislinn's .elc directory she has a custom_mirrors.lst file but not a custom_files.lst. (Aislinn's customs work fine, old install from forever ago.) In the new install on the laptop, if I change the supplied custom_mirrors.lst file contents from www.eternal-lands.com to www2.gm.fh-koeln.de, I get the unofficial downloads fine when I do #update. But still get the above error message for the official customs. Any ideas?

That information could differ depending on where you installed it from. I'll do my best to give you some options to check based on my own installations. On Arch Linux, my directories are /home/sb/.elc and /home/sb/el_linux. I compiled it myself and that's where I chose to put them. The music folder in this instance would be the /home/sb/el_linux/music path. I have an Ubuntu installation for an alt on a laptop just for kicks so I can help others with their Ubuntu installations. The music folder in this setup would be located at: /usr/share/games/EternalLands/music. On both of these, if you do have a music folder, make sure your path doesn't have two music folders: example: /home/sb/music/music/*.ogg. (You should have both .pll and .ogg files in here) My suspicion is you don't have a music folder with the necessary files as last I knew, that is a separate download. Run this: apt-get install eternallands-music Let us know how it turns out!

Make sure the music files also installed with the rest of it. Do you have a separate music folder in the same directory as your sound folder?

Actually you have it backwards. The game owner doesn't have to respond to you at all. We'll say it one more time: this issue has come up many times before. He is aware of steam. He is not interested in steam. If he ever does decide to become interested in steam, he knows where to find it.

Also, I just want to remind you (and everyone else) about rules 4 and 8 and that you need to click on them in the ingame rules window so you can read them in their entirety. 4. I find it hard to believe you didn't know what that friend was doing. So I have to ask: 1. Why should I believe it's really you that wants this character back, and you're not going to let "a friend" use it or buy it or whatever? 2. Why should I believe the macroing won't happen again? 3. Nobody else who was involved in all this got their characters back. Why should you? Lol the more I look through the logs, the more I see that I don't like. I see your friend is back and tried to log on to your character.

Not for an ingame character. Possibly for forums. They're separate.

That's REALLY old, 2004 or 2005ish? There was a server crash in July of 2004 and all characters were lost. That said, it looks to me like somebody shared their screenshot for you to use minus the name.

Yes, you hit a banned range from 2016. Funnily enough, it was for you I removed the IP ban but you need to give the server 20 minutes or so to update.
