I'm a fan of almost anything that makes Tailoring more useful. Z

I think you're right. I just went back through my chat log, it looks like I misread exactly when the achievement popped when i got back to my computer and saw the popup. My bad. Still, it seems like it took me _forever_ to get this achievement the first time, and it's coming along _way_ faster now. But I'd trust your data if you actually checked it w/Redeemer. Z

It appears that CD damage does apply to this achievement. I just had rank 2 pop while idle at EVTR iron when someone else hit a radon pouch. Z

I think I'd be OK with, perhaps, modifying/relaxing it in some way. I'm definitely against getting rid of it entirely. I'd be fine with 'fair' trade between alts but this has a lot of potential for abuse and would probably be pretty time consuming for the mods to enforce properly. I think, though, it would not hurt the game to allow a player to make a one-time gift to a new alt, with some cap on the value (say, 1Mgc?) Z

Membership. What would you pay for?
Zilding replied to Kabat's topic in Suggestions - General, Misc.
I think Aq's comment on 'maxed out skills' is that most of the skills aren't really worth the effort except for braggin' rights after a certain point, and that 'certain point' isn't really all that high in some of the skills. Getting even 50-60 short of the cap is pointless in anything but combat. Still a long way to go for me personally, but there are plenty of folks who are there. Z -

I have the same problem with Glacmor insides/caves. Jim -

Small note -- in the .zip file, Irilion.dds, Seridia.dds, and Anitora.dds are capitalized. This causes them to be ignored on systems (e.g. Linux) with case-sensitive filesystems. Z -

I'm don't think doing it on specific items would be good (It'd be a pain just to do the artwork for that many things), but I definitely think adding another tier to some of the achievements would be fun. I've only ever seen a couple lvl. 3 monster killers in any of the categories -- even lvl 1 isn't entirely 'common' -- while lvl 3 harvester pretty much just says 'I've played this game for a month or so' and all but the most dedicated fighters have it -- it's barely even really an 'achievement'. I think a BIG fourth tier on some of the more common achievements would be nice. The specific achievements that I think could do with an 'epic/black/platinum' tier: Herbalist/Miner: Lvl 4: 5 million harved? 10? Maybe even bigger. Lucky Finder/Crafter: 250 crafted/found? Nature Hates Me: 500k damage? Mushroomer: 1M toadies eaten? Yes, I know achievements are pointless, but they're fun, and lvl 4's of already-existing achievements I would think would require very little effort in terms of code and artwork (Although they may require a client-side update for the art?) Jim While we're at it though, an achievement for finishing the tailoring and engineering tutorials would be nice.

Yes, it's possible. My guild (HERB) has no 'enemies' set but several guilds tagged with color to indicate that their members are or are not to be trusted. And new members are told of this. Am curious if an officer of MOB set NH as 'enemy' without understanding what that means (with regards to Total War), and without changing the tag colour. As far as I know there is no point to setting another guild officially as 'enemy' unless you plan to participate in Total War.

Approach, could you clarify about newhope possibly exploiting a bug? I haven't seen anything in any of your logs that suggested this is the case. Z

Small change to setting #enemy_combatant in TTW
Zilding replied to Maxine's topic in Suggestions - General, Misc.
I totally agree... one of my guildies was recently sort-of 'lured' into typing this. My guild has no 'official' enemies set so it really doesn't affect her, but she was quite freaked out. -
Hi all. There have been many previous suggestions about this topic but most seem incredibly overpowered -- they'd need to be paired w/breakage like a harv med, which is annoying enough. But I do find it odd that even the biggest players in the game still often wear what are effectively cheap 'newbie' cloaks, simply because there's no better option. What about something to the effect of: Fast Excavator: Gives Excavator perk, gives 1/2 chance of regaining 2 hp/mana per minute. Durable Excavator: Gives Excavator perk, cuts chance of tool and harvmed breakage by 5-10%. Fast Powersaver: Gives Fast Regeneration perk, gives 1/2 chance of not using up food that minute. Etc. etc. Essentially, cloaks that give the full perk of one of the standard cheap cloaks, + a 'lesser version' of some other perk, or some small (but useful) bonus. Depending exactly on the price range and the extra bonus granted, I think a lot of the higher level folks would go for it. Wouldn't provide any massive advantage (like 3x harv, doubling harvmed effects, giving 2 full-on perks, and other such suggestions), but would still probably be worth the price at a certain level. Z

Exc, FR cloaks with slight bonuses
Zilding replied to Zilding's topic in Suggestions - General, Misc.
OK, let me make it clear that I am NOT talking about cloaks that give two FULL perks at once. Talking about just a slight bonus over just Excavator perk, or FR perk, or whatever... It's more about gee, I bought this excavator cape when I was OA 10, I'm OA 120 now and it's still the only sane cape option for harving. Part of the fun of RPGs is getting better equipment as you level up and can afford/make better stuff. _THAT_ is the whole point. They are really cheap. I don't want to wear really cheap gear. I'm willing to spend money and/or time to wear better than the same cloak that every tiny little player has, even if it's only a very small bonus, and I think a lot of other people would too. Plus anything that makes Tailoring more useful is a good thing. -
+1, I think more unique critters are a good thing, and this sounds like fun.
-
Another idea might be a mini-rosto, that only protects items requiring, say, human 5 or less (and all other items, like essies and whatnot). Personally I've never carried a rosto (the relatively low value of even my best gear makes it not worthwhile), but if such an item were available at, say, 10kgc or so, I would probably carry it all the time just to avoid the annoyance of dropping stuff when I do something stupid.

I agree some sort of organization would be nice... if it helps in the short term, the #know command is probably easiest if you're looking for a specific thing. Z

#IGS command [Multi-Inter-Guild Messages]
Zilding replied to Panatella's topic in Suggestions - General, Misc.
A command to #ig all allied guilds at once wouldn't be a terrible idea, I think, or to avoid possible spam, only to mutual allied guilds. Z -
Was anything changed in one of the server updates? The global seems to be putting out special days quite a bit more this time around. Z
-
NM, appears restarting the client fixed the issue...
-
Um, oddly enough this issue has _started_ for me as of today. Previously, the client would just not let me type a message that was too long, now it lets me type quite long messages and will just say 'command string too long'. I haven't updated or recompiled my client... has something changed on server side?
-
It's (mostly) available here: http://web.archive.org/web/20110623081809/http://el-wiki.net/ A bit dated, and can be slow, but it'll do for most things.

Xaq says to get cactus in DP at 242,145. If you ask her again if she needs help, she says 243,126, which is actually correct. Z
-
I like this idea. What about possibly 'ramping up' drops instead of going from 0% to 50% immediately at lvl 20? Perhaps a curve, so lower level players will slowly see the increase, maybe they don't hit the full 50% death drop rate until OA 40-50? That way their first death (once it starts to matter) won't be quite so devastating, but they'll still get the message they need to be careful.

I think certain relaxation of it might be good -- perhaps allowing 'fair' trades between alts. Example, you could sell an alt FE's for 5 gc (which is, of course, the common price). Enforcement might be difficult, though, somebody would actually have to review all trades between alts, and make a judgment call on whether or not the trade was fair (especially for stuff that doesn't have a real 'set', common value). Perhaps a one-time gift to a new alt up to a certain value could be allowed, to help a new char start out. With that said, I voted no to removal of the rule entirely.
