hi, i used to use auto-clicker, and ctrl 1-6 for food, to make pots and a little essence but i dont even do that anymore since this whole ordeal began (basicly last week), of course i was at keyboard. My question is how can these tests be reliable if you can do same things as a macro does from the actual client by clicking? I mean its real clear cut if someone is afk while say manuing at storage, but im not so sure it is using your method. in game name: spice1

Ok lol FINALLY, i resolved the issue. ttlanhil was correct, the client was trying to connect to 2002. However, in my el.ini port is set to 2000. I simply put a check in multiplayer.c to print hostname and port and it was 2002. Lol anyways, i should've done that when it first happened i guess. thx

Yes. AND i've compiled the CVS version, including like 5 min ago (did update then compile), same message. Also it seams that it doesnt 'try' to connect for very long, just goes to err msg almost immediately. edit: typo

No one has any ideas??? PLEASE help. Im running slackware 10 if it matters, never had problems with el. I just dont know what to think. edit: am i the only one with this problem?

I've never been on test server, but this is what im trying to connect to: eternal-lands.network-studio.com (this is weird, but i tried eternal-lands.solexine.fr as well to same effect) port 2000 lol you're prolly as confused as i am now

Ok, I've downloaded the linux binaries, I've even compiled (and REcompiled) from CVS, try to connect, no luck. I get this error message "Can't connect to server " I have NO idea why this is happening. At first i thought update wasnt done but now its obvious that i just cant get in . Does any1 have ANY ideas as to why this is happening? Please help me PS. yes i am connected to internet lol

Someone can close this now EDIT: if someone has same error (with actor_defs) just copy the actor_defs folder into ur el folder like m_bee said, then edit the el.ini (all the way at the botom) edit the linux option to set the data dir (data_dir), and it should be fine

ok first off, the client compiled fine after some efforts, but when i run it i get the following output: I/O warning : failed to load external entity "languages/en/strings/titles.xml" I/O warning : failed to load external entity "languages/en/strings/titles.xml" I/O warning : failed to load external entity "/usr/local/games/el//actor_defs/actor_defs.xml" folowed by a segmentation fault. I used GDB and found that it crashes in actor_scripts.c specifically line 288: //now see if we can find that frame if(!actors_list->is_enhanced_model) numFrames=actors_list->model_data->numFrames; else numFrames=actors_list->body_parts->head->numFrames; // <-- this line this happenes in the very begining (right after login) and i in this case is 0, max_actors is 1. And it seems that actors_list->body_parts->head is NULL, but i have no clue why this is happening. Any help would be appretiated.
