  1. Negative Perk discussion

Here's an Idea regarding the Nexus System. I think that we should just exclude the Nexus System from the PP System entirely, but instead, our Nexus Level should directly reflect The current corresponding Skill and automaticly increase every so many Levels of that skill. Afterall, One's Experince in a skill is basicly a Personal Mathimatical represention of one's understanding and Knowledge of that Skill. That, in my oppinon, is the basic idea of what a "Nexus" is. For example, every 7 +3 Levels or so of a skill (say Harvesting) we gain, our Nexus should also rise 1 point. Logical, right? Like At: Harvesting Level 7 = Inorganic Nexus 1 Harvesting Level 10 = Inorganic Nexus 2 Harvesting Level 23 = Inorganic Nexus 3 Harvesting Level 39 = Inorganic Nexus 4 Harvesting Level 58 = Inorganic Nexus 5 Harvesting Level 80 = Inorganic Nexus 6 (if expanded that far) [The Rate of Growth for each Skill would vary.] This would both make it Experinced Based and Leave room for further Growth beyond 5 Nexus Levels. Then, each player would still be able to do anything in the Game but Working towards a certain Nexus of that would require far more diligance then being an all-rounder and more difficult then just raising one's Overall. Plus, there's no pain of Loss of a Reset since no one will reset. Of course, why would you need Nexus then if we have Level Requirements? Well, Nexus might be used for other things as well. Like NPC Quests and Books requirements or even effecting the Success/Failure Rates or even work in Unison with another Nexus to add to a player's Abilities and Skills. (Just brainstorming) [Though, The Fighting System may be even yet Trickier.] Alright! So it's not the best idea but I really don't like having to buy Nexuses. It doesn't fit the game and basing it on Pick Points can adversely effect the game. We should earn them through direct "Hand's On" work and earning them by Leveling or maybe through NPC "Training" is more desirable. Then, once the Perk system is removed in favor of a more "Incorprated, Indepth" System, that'll only leave the PP System to cover the Attributes. With a Little reworking, the PP system could possibly remain to handle Player Attributes Or it could be removed entirely for something Better. What do you guys think?
  2. Fess up

    1. Depends: MacDonold's or Wendy's? 2. Never intentionally but once it comes on the Radio, sure. 3. All of them. 4. Love them, as long as there's Comedy included. 5. That was a Movie? I thought some idiot was Blackmailed a TV Network to air him making a Jackass of himself for 5 minutes. 6. Japan. Beautiful Country, Amazing Culture, Freaky Porn. What's not to love? 7. Mario. All of them. Even the Classic. 8. Cats. 9. Middle of No where, but I could survive anywhere. 10. Nope. I'm the one who calls others Goober.
  3. Negative Perk discussion

I to believe that the MM Perk is one of the sole reasons that this game is unbalanced. But I wouldn't call it the "bagjumpers' perk." Rather it's "The Free Resources" Perk as if helps just about anyone who wants free Stuff and they don't want to work for it.
  4. Negative Perk discussion

The Problem there is that there really is No Choice, Only Gambling and Fiddling. The only person that the PP System ever fools in believing it can shape their character as they wish is newbies and those who know how to Use Reset. The Truth is, when a player first starts, they Understand Next to Nothing about the PP System. They'll Wonder around IP for an hour before finally asking how to play properly and no one (Myself included) is able to properly explain the System to them. And Because of this, Newbies will almost Always Makes "the Wrong Choice." Of course, we have Reset. But that opens a whole New Can of Worms. First, No player ever understands the System well enough to Know If and When they've made a mistake and once they do understand, Resetting is one of the most painful things that could be done. Many Players have Quit because of that alone. Second, It is totally Abused. Once a Player Does understand the System, Reset allows a player to Manipulate (Not built) their Character as they see fit. Then, Once a Player has Manipulated their Character to their likings, the Whole PP system becomes useless to them cause all the works done with. Not a Player Wipe. That would do more harm then good. In the Shape the Current game is now, no one wants to reset they entire character and play everything over again. But, once the overall game is improved and rebuilt from the ground up, most players would be more then happy to reset their Characters. I'm listening and I agree that the PP System needs to be stripped from this game (but mainly the Perk System). But I do not agree that we should Ever bring back the old system. It's almost as bad as the PP System. On the other hand, A Much better idea would be to Seperate the Perks, Attributes and Nexus completely. Do not have them all based on Pick Points and Make players have to Earn them instead of just Buying them. And Not solely by Quests either, though we do need more Quests. Attributes could be Earned Normally, tough I dislike it currently. There's certain Topic elsewhere that discusses these and Nexues so I can't talk here. But I'll focus on an idea I most support, which is that Perks should be given out by Gods and other NPCs as Quest Rewards and only once you've finished a very long list of Chores (also, not just giving them useless Crap) and not Just from one NPC and not just by turning in your PP Like you would Cereal Box Tops. That way, After Working for ever so long to Please a God/NPC, you'd get a reward of a Perk (or possibly your choice of Perks). Also, because you can only 3 Gods (Or NPC for those who choose not to follow a God), the Perks avalible to a player would be limited by that player's Choices. And then, If a Player decides latter that s/he doesn't like the Perk, you either have to Leave the God/NPC (and lose all that work doe for that God/NPC) or Offence that GOD/NPC (which would be very Bad, to say the least.)
  5. That's....um, Unfortunate?
  6. man die while playing online game

AH HA! I'll go with that. Mother Nature certainly Weeds out the Cyber-Wimps. Then again, A Plague that could wipe out the Overly Computer Obsessed would be much more Efficient. It's sorely needed.
  7. Should be Universal...... But there could always be a Shipping Tax.
  8. OK... OK.. Hee hee

Rule #1 of telling a good joke: If you have to explain the joke, It's not funny!
  9. this ones for entropy

Click an Hold onto his head. Dance, Dubya, Dance like the Puppet you are. Also, you can take him and throw him against the wall or bang his head into a Bubble too.
  10. freaky things on word

Maybe it means you subconciously mis-typed that cause you secretly wish to go camping to look at Nature that you love so much? I don't know. It almost sounded believable.
  11. Locked!

That's funny. I logged on to the Site shown on the Memo just fine (as soon as I spelled "Craft" correctly. ) And the puzzle was easy upto finding the safe but that was simple as soon as I realized the Lock on the safe was a date. Then all you have to do is start at the most obvious date and count backwards.
  12. How to fix the economy

.....I..... Can't Tell.... Is this suppose to be Sarcastic or what? I mean, This Can't be a Serious Suggession. It's just so .... Stupid!
  13. Oh no. We shouldn't have the Alignment Set at Creation. Nobody is Born Inharently Good Or Evil and the game should reflect that. Everyone should start at Nuetral. That way, the Development of your character would be 100% up to you and not have to Try to Change anything Preset by "Fate". No, Followers of a God aren't nessacarily of the same Alignment of the God they follow but that isn't to say that by following that God, you wouldn't tend to Shift towards that God's Own Alignment through your Devotion. Take Mortos For Example: Though you don't need to be "Evil" to folllow Mortos, that isn't to say that you would be entirely Welcome by Mortos if you are too far from his own Alignment. After all, he looks down on anyone who doesn't fit his idea of Right or Wrong. Also, by Following Mortos, you would likely be expected to do Negative Deeds by request of Mortos or in Mortos' name to win his Favor. It is by these "Evil Deeds" do you tend to fall towards the Evil side. The More you Devote to him, the more he'll ask of you and the higher the price you'll have to pay. That is, after all, how Evil gets you. For the Promise for More power, you'll be baited into sacrificing much. So, by the Time you do achieve his Greatest Blessing, you'll most likely have fallen a great deal in Alignment. And It's The same for all the Gods. But this also depends alot on just how they're going to redo the Gods ingame.
  14. Nah. Pking in general is not inharently "Evil" and killing someone won't make you so. But by merely Attacking someone, then you're alignment would be effected, if by a small amount. Ideally, how your alignment is effected when attacking someone would be determined very much by that player's own personal Alignment regardless of your own. If you attack a "good" player then your own Alignment would be effected negitively and it'd go down. If you attack a "Evil" player, your Own Alignment would be effected Positively and it'd go up. Of course, that would be Ideal but I can't say that would be exactly how it'd work out.
  15. PKable Tankel?

He's right. I'd think that our Mental Health would benifit much more instead by putting a Effigy of Shivar on IP that we all could beat with sticks everyday, all day long. That sounds more fun to me right now. But, if not that, Making Tankel PK is a Great second choice.
  16. Great idea. In fact, it's already currently being discussed elsewhere. But it's still good to know that it's still desired by all.
  17. Kill me

I don't. Last thing we need is another Perk to unbalance the chaos we call this game. In fact, it's time we should start thinking away from the whole Perk system entirely, as it will become obsolete soon.
  18. IRON and Orcs

Would of been nice had you Abridged that somewhat. Then maybe I would've actually read it and not just skim through it.
  19. what's this

Is it just me or is his English getting Worse and Worse each time he posts? Anyway, I believe it's fairly possible to play from an Internet Cafe. Using your own LapTop connected through a Terminal is a big thing going on right now in some I.Cafes. I'd never do it since I'm already spending way to much on Internet service as it is. Besides, way pay someone else to use their Service when it's easier just to tap into someone else's phoneline (not that I'd ever do it ) But the only point that I found most unconvincing about "Paladin" saying that "Blinduser" is just the guy next to him was that fact that "blinduser" was clearly an overlly annoying person. That means, there's no way a guy like that would stop Blabbing for as long as he did while "Paladin" was talking. If there were two guys, Entropy would have been getting messages from them both as once yet in that chat-log shows that only one would talk at a time; Proving, once again, that most people can't type two things at the same time on one computer. But, maybe I'm just overanalizing it. It's funny and I think I should of left it as that.
  20. Rant On the World

Well, Actually I didn't intent of Going off Like that. I never do but for some reason once I start typing and thinking about twenty Subjects at once, I can't help myself but to try to type everything going on in my head at the time, though I try to keep it limited it all to the realivant Topic. I just like to Think. I guess I just need to learn not to Think and Type at the Same time, ........ Like some others we all know here.
  21. What's your desktop?!?!

Daaaammmmn!!!! That's .....um, Wow! I just love that Pic. Mine, for now. Sometimes I just like to use Stars but this is too pretty not to view everyday. Only think I don't like is the reselution is poor.
  22. Rant On the World

We can't go around Punching people for being Ignorant. If we were, then this whole World will become one great Fist Fight. Remember, there's more people in the world stupid enough to start fights then there are people Smart enough to end them.
  23. Rant On the World

I completely Agree and anyone else who disagrees is Wrong! But Honestly! I, on the other hand, really do like Reading Threads such as these and think that they are not quite so pointless. I am a Philosopher by Nature and I like to Moll over the opinions of others, even if they are maybe completely biased and a little nonfactual, all in the attempt to further my understanding of the world and of people in general. Sometimes that even means wading through tons of Crap to find the rare treasure of a Random Bit of Wisdom. Of course, I do not rely only on Forums of pure Opinions as a source of Philosophic Debate but it is one of the best sources in which to peer into the Minds and to understand the Thoughts of the General Public. Anyway, As for my own opinions, they are wide and far too complex to get into so I'll just say that, on a Personal note, I Agree with many of you on some points and Disagree with some of you on many Points. But I'll say a few things that even I can't resist, as I am a very opinionated person. On Bush: You cannot Measure a Man on the Few Good Deeds he had done, though they be Great in Effect and yet ignore the Many Evil Deeds he has done, though they are often Over-shadowed by his Good deeds. Hitler even did a Number of Great things for his country and undoubtedly Changed the World by his few 'Good' Deeds but, in the Light of his Many completely Evil Deeds, his few Good Deeds do not make him a Great Man. As such, It is far too soon to Judge Bush as a Great Man on the basis of a few Acts that turned out to be Positive when he has also done heinous acts of equal Magnitude and Acted in appalling ways in the effort to achieve his Goals. Especially when much of those results were, in all rights, a game of Chance. As to Bush's Competency, I have yet to determine. At times, I see him as an utter Loon who doesn't always know where he is at the moment and is possibly merely the Puppet of other interest Groups. Other times, I can swear I can see a Spark of Shrewdness and Cunning just Lying under the Surface that's telling me he knows a lot more then he's telling us and belies further plans yet to be revealed! Either Way, I don't trust him. I never did and I never will. On a recurring Topic within this thread: Lies! One thing you must understand; People Lie to you. The Government will Lie to you. The Media will Lie to you. Yes, even Your Parents will Lie to you. If they have an interest at Stake, everyone will lie to you if they believe that they Must or if they can get away with it. Anyone will lie to you if you let them. It doesn't matter who it is or their reasons why. Whether it's your Big Brother when he tells you that there's a Monster under your bed or it's your Parents when they tell you that the Tooth Fairy will Give you Quarters for your teeth. You'd be surprised too how many Lies that you have been led to believe during the course of your life that you don't even realize and are still believing just because someone can give you a good enough Argument as to the reasons why you should. In a World which has been woven with Lies, there comes a time when you have to decide for yourself whether or not you want to continue to believe what you're told just because you believe that you trust who told you all that you have even been told. You have to take everything that you've ever learnt in the pass so many years and set it all aside! Once you've done that, you go back over it all and either validate or Deny validity of it yourself by going through it all piece by piece and proving it to yourself. That Means Everything; From your Belief in the Akins Diet to your Deepest Faiths. Set it all aside in the Search for the Truth among all the lies. If you can't prove something for yourself beyond a Shadow of Doubt, then you should never put your complete faith in it and, above anything, you should Never pass along those beliefs to others as though they are Facts. And I'm not advocating Distrust. Far from it, in fact. I believe Trust and Faith to be powerful tools against the onslaught of Deceit. I only believe in a healthy dose of Skepticism and doubt to aid in protecting your mind from those whom either will Willing deceive for their own purposes or from those who only pass along the Lies that they have also been led to believe. As a Young Child, I have been the victim of many, many Lies from those who I've trusted and as a result, I lived my life for years believing those lies to be true, often to the detriment to my Mind and Soul. It was only after I was fortunate enough to be exposed to Ideas and Philosophies contrary to what I was told was I able to begin to question everything I thought I knew, though it was Difficult at first. As such, I don't like being lied to and I take great offence at being taken as a Fool. It was because of this that I decided to Follow a Purely Philosophical Path, simply to try to sort out the countless Centuries of Lies on which our world is founded. I know it's a quest that I will never Finish in my Life-Time but even if I help to dispel a single Lie that is taken for granted, I'll die happy.
  24. The Unicorn

Well, There is the old Myth that Unicorns come from a Parallel Dimension(kind of like the Astral Plane) and ever so often, whether by personal Choice, Outside Intervention, or by Accident, a Unicorn will cross over into this reality. Many Unicorns can exist in this reality at once but it takes time before one crosses over. Maybe make the Unicorn's appearances be Determined and Explained as such. Also, the Unicorn should have the ablity to Teleport, Both Long Range and Short Range, in addition to their other spells. That way catching her will be even more difficult. And the Unicorn shouldn't need to use the Essences normally required for those spells. That's what the Unicorn's Horn is for. As long as the Unicorn has it's horn, it can automaticly use it's spells by drawing Essences from the serrounding Mana. And that should be the reward for Killing the Unicorn. It's horn would allow the Player weilding it (and the player would have to wield it as a weapon) to use Essences they have in storage but the cost would require Twice the Normal cost of Essences. Maybe it'll even effect the player's Mana consumption, although I'm not sure how. That way, only pure Spellcasters would be interested in using it since it takes up their Weapon slot but Spellcasters wouldn't be able to kill it with just normal Spells. It could also be used in a New weapon which would have a Similar, yet less powerful, effect on the wielder.
  25. Sleep paralysis

Aye. I've had this happen to me constantly. I use to get Sleep Paraplysis all the time back all through High School. And I do mean in High School. First time was in 9th Grade. I fell asleep in Math Class (Who wouldn't?) and woke up like that, Perfectly aware of everything going on around me yet I couldn't Move, Talk and Shivering from the Cold. I actually thought I was dead. I was so scared that I actually tried to scream. I totally Freaked. Last thing I remember was falling back asleep and waking again an hour later. And I do know it was an hour as I could plainly see the Clock on the wall the whole time this was happening. After That, It kept happening again at least once a week for 4 straight years, always during School when I kept falling asleep. It got so back that I often tried to resist falling asleep in Class, by any means nessacary but back in my High School Days I wasn't very good at staying awake so it couldn't always control it. After a few times of it happening with no resulting effects, I decided to experiment with it a few times. I even thought maybe it was some sort of OBE (Out of Body Experince) and, after calming myself down and getting a grip on my nerves, I tried different ways to wake myself like focusing on one body part and attemping to "Will" it to move but with no luck. After a while, I learnt the easiest way to wake myself was just to fall back asleep again. Then you'll allow your body to wake up normally. The hard part was just trying not to freak out everytime it happens and just calm down. In fact, after School ended, I haven't had a single case of it in over 5 years until one day I dosed off on my couch and it happened again. After that, I realised something: It was cold in my house. Not "Freezing" cold but just too far below what it was comfertible. Then I remember that all through High School, every one of my Classes in which I had this happen was also really Cold. That's why My theory is that the Temperture of the Room at the Time in which I awoke had something to do with the State in which I awoke. It's a Working Theory but so far, it was the only constant variable in all cases in which I've experinced Sleep paralysis. Everytime, the Temperture in the Room was very Cold. But all in all, It still scares the Hell out of me sometimes just remembering it. I've done sometime like that once. I dont remember what my dream was about but the only thing I remember was waking up while airborn just in time to hit the wall. Appearantly, I took a Flying leap off my bed and slammed head-first into the wall on the other side of my room. Talk about waking with a start. And I've fell out of my bed a few times too but usually that only because I got my legs wrapped up in my sheets while asleep and I often sleep walk. I've even had a lot of instances where I'd wake up in the middle of the night in a state of Terror without any idea of where I am and I'll jump out of bed and stumble around my room in a Haze trying to get a grip on any concept of reality that I can, usually breaking things in the process. That is one of my worse sleep related fears. It happens far too often for my tastes and I've never been able to overcome them. And worse yet is that I can never even remember what it was that I was dreaming beforehand to even explain why I did that!
