  1. Active Hyperbag "Treasure Hunts"

Funny to see so many immature and incoherent opinions . It is a generally accepted (by the EL community) fact that if you train on a monster and die you loose the spawning place because you could not keep it. However most of these players who play by this unwritten rule say that if you can not keep your stuff because you die or because you decide so, than you can still claim those items. I say, come on, this is hillarious. You must see the similarity between those two. As far as i know, the true meaning of bagjumping is originating from the good ol' times when safe-trade (storage trade) was not possible. That meant if two guys wanted to exchange goods greater than their respective capacities they needed to put the trade-good in bags and and "exchanged" their bags. Bagjumpers were called those people who had good reflexes and jumped or tried to jump on the tradebags. Yes, those people were thiefs and there were many of them and they were the main reason storage-trade was introduced. The first version of the storage trade was not the version we have today as people with fast reflexes could still scam, however any third-party interference was eliminated. Ok, history class is over . Tordek, a retired fellow. P.S. Maybe you guys could lobby for a password-protected version of the hyperspace-bag. I'm sure it wouldn't take Entropy more than a couple of hours to create it on the server-side. However, don't mention to him that password-protected hyperspace bags could be abused to create custom storages anywhere you want as i doubt he would like the idea
  2. Life Drain Bug

Well, i am not quite sure this is so because you can only cast Life Drain if you are close enough. If you are not close enough to engage the animal, you cannot cast the spell. Besides, for me it was more like a random event than something you could plan and build a strategy on.
  3. Life Drain Bug

Recently I have trained my magic with Life Drain on Grizzly bears. Sometimes i successfully drain life from the bear without engaging it into fight. This happend to me like three times in a 5 hour period. It's not a huge bug, but it's still one.
  4. Lord of the flies day

Well, I wouldn't say Day of the brave is a negative day for pkers. The only thing you can't do is pvp train. Beside that you can train on monsters and pk as well. Most pkers even enjoy when no fleeing is possible ... at least when they are the stronger one in the fight.
  5. Lord of the flies day

I would rather see a random day where every player becomes pkable but can attack / be attacked by players within 10 a/d his level. ( Or only if the difference in a+d is < 20). In it's original form this day would only be fun for the elite pker class. Actually i wouldn't mind some kind of restrictions in attacking players on pk maps... but this has been suggested already enough times....
  6. I am trying to buy 20k water essences. Please post your offer here or contact me ingame.
  7. Ye Olde Alchemist's Shop

    2k WE please. Thanks
  8. New LosoL (xauron)

Nope, Lidda is my sister and she does not have an account on this forum.
  9. This is a market?

Sorry Learner, but i just cannot agree with you. NPC's already buy some items OVER their production cost. Namely flowers and most harvestables. If these items can be sold over production cost i don't see why other items cannot. If you don't exagerate that profit i see no obstacle in it. In my eyes this simply means that leather pants were just overvalued. I haven't played at that time but i guess thay could have been sold for much more than 40gc. How many leather pants can one make a day? 5000? Rewarding him for his whole-day with 5000gc profit is very reasonable in my eyes. This is simply because 5000gc in very easy to get by selling flowers. Basically what i lack to see is coherence in the economy. I would say nothing if we were not able to sell flower for such high prices, and neither if we would have profit (any tiny profit) on all items. Tordek
  10. cannot log in

Hello guys. I am writing as the founder of the HUNS guild ( the guild Pingo was in ) and as a friend of Pingo's. If it's not too big a trouble for you please clarify me what Pingo did and also whether if he has any chance of playing EL again. I would prefer forum PMs instead of replying to this topic. As of Pingo... I know him for more than a year now, and not once has he caused any trouble. He was always helpful and contributed to the development of our guild. Thank you for your answers.
  11. Of course it is the game. If it wouldn't be the game it would be off-topic. But there is a huge difference in the benefit you gain by doing different things. Everything and I mean everything in this game has a cost that can be transformed into play-time. I have just recalculated the cost of FPs using Learners and Enyos suggest (by using cooked meat instead of raw) and I found out that really would solve this issue. The two real time-costs would be almost the same. Actually if you would consider de xp you get too with this formula the feasting potions would be more profitable than buying them from Mira. So go for it. Nothing is free, everything costs TIME. It is another issue that it doesn't cost gc. If everything is free then why dont we all harvest blue star flowers? It's simple... because you get more if you harvest blue lupines. Everybody(most people) who is harvesting for money is either harvesting blue lupines or silver ore ( those who are anti-social and cannot sell the BL). kk, sorry. My fault. Time is NOT money. Time is gc and xp. (satisfied?). Well, here are your options: 1. Do nothing but chat: gain 0 gc/h, 0 xp/h 2. Harvest BL: gain 3600 gc/h, (4+x)*120 xp/h ... 19. Buy feasting potions from Mira: ... 52. Make feasting potions on your own. ... So you see, there is plenty to do with your EL free time. And because every activity you do has different benefit values you can actually calculate what is good to do and what is not.
  12. Lol Aislinn, you totally missed the point. All that i have written refers to the game money and game time. It applies really good. Peoples objective in this game is either to gain money ( yes, ingame money) or experience ( yes, ingame experience) . EDIT: If i was referring to real money i would have said: "stop playing and go work..."
  13. I think everybody heard the dictum "Time is money". This extreemly applies to EL too. (A guy above was very right that you cannot compare prices in EL because that is not a solid way to compare them. Contrary, NecessaryPlayerTimes is the only valid means to compare things in any game.) The question is how to calculate the rate beetween the time and money. As most of you know, the Blue Lupines are one of the best way to earn a fortune. So basically anyone can calculate it's time worth in EL by measuring how much gc he/she can gather in a timeframe. I have made a very pricise formula based on experiments to how to calculate it. Your time worths = ( 0.42*EMU / (120 + 0.18 * EMU) ) gc Here EMU means your net capacity. This formula for an EMU of 500 amazingly gives 1 as a result ( if the devs did this on purpose i raise my hat and bow in front of them ). This simply means that if you harvest Blue Lupines in Portland and sell them in the flower shop you will get around 3600gc an hour. Just for comparing reasons: For 1000 EMU you get 1.4 gc / sec For 700 EMU you get 1.195 gc /sec For 300 EMU you get 0.72 gc /sec For your EMU just use the formula So from now on anybody can calculate his/her value in EL, but in the following i will work with the 500 EMU player value ( 1gc = 1 sec ) Now i will apply this on the current debate: how much do Feasting Potions really cost? If you buy from Mira they have 11 sec base cost + the time to fetch them is 2 sec. So it is 13 sec in total. If you make the pots then they cost 5 sec the vial, 5 sec the meat, 1 sec the fruit, 1 sec the veggie, 2 sec to make one. This makes it 14 sec, so what this really means that you buy 70 potion xp for 1 sec Note that i added no extra cost for the "meat+vial trade" time and neither for "looking for buyer" time. The above written is correct, however there is one issue concerning the meat. More specifically the player who sells the meat in bulk. Considering a spawn place with 2 deers and a spawn time of 30 sec and that you kill a deer in 5 sec after it spawned you gather exactly 360 meatsin an hour. This simply means that the real meat value is 10 sec and not 5. Selling raw meat for 5gc is anything but a fruitful business . Whatever... So, in conclusion if you do the feasting potions totally on your own then they cost 19 sec, which compared to Miras 13 is anything is anything but negligable. -------------------------------------------------- With the above described method you can calculate the real cost for every raw material. Knowing the cost of raw materials you can calculate the real cost of everything else. Maybe i will do an excell table, similar to Flintos, with the real cost of items, but i highly doubt it will be anytime soon (RL sux). Tordek, PS. math rullz.
  14. This is a market?

Ruln, i guess you did not read very carefully my post. You would still be able to harvest more than 120 so there would be absolutley no change in the amount of xp you potentially get. However, if you would be able to harvest only 200 diamond an hour there would be a significant decrease in air essence production which would be good. Likewise with other raw materials.... This more I think of it gives me the feeling that it definiatly would help. Raw material could be balanced this way, in terms that right now animal items are far harder to gather than anything else. For instance you can run around and kill bunnies an hour long and you still would gather less than 150 furs, whereas if you harvest silver ore, it takes only 3-4 minutes to gather that amount. Btw, I would like to see Entropys or Rojas comments on this topic. Tordek
  15. This is a market?

clmates - nice job - if it was up to me i really would give it a try. I just want to mention something. There is an extreemly easy way to control the amount of items made. Simply limit the amount of raw materials that enters the game. I mean there is a limit right now(set by the harvesting speed), but lower that limit (lower the speed or apply a treshhold). For instance if you harvest silver ore the limit is 2640 per hour. What if you could harvest only 500/h?. I admit, this would be a very dramatic change but needs minimal code to be implemented and really would turn things into the good direction.
