    with all due respect lyanna, thats just player interaction! people already make groups to harvest+mule (not talking about illegal muleing here ) and people already mule using rings ot teleport to portals when it is worth the hassle so what you add here is another spell that gives another kind of teleport you can regulate it where it hurts: the cost to cast and the level required to. something like teleport to other. sigils: move change life space required level 42 (this may need some fine tuning) mana cost 25 essences: 1x matter, 1x spirit, 1x life, 6x energy exp awarded: this is left as an exercise to the reader. the same could be said of teleport to portal rooms or any ring (and not too long ago #beam me ) adding one more speel that allows that taking in consideration that it would be more expensive than teleport to portals AND require a third person to cooperate with you do not a exploit make ... of course my favourite teleport pell idea is also one people would never implement because its the bully speel in nature and there would be too much complaints. teleport others! a spin of teleport to rage that teleport other peopel instead of you make that guy standign up in front of storage go into a lmappost!, make that bully pker going in your general direction loose some steps in the race ... (yeah yeah.. people would abuse it and bagjumping woudl take a whole new level as bagsitting would be considered useless ... but hey .. let me dream!)

    placid, almost every language has functions to create *NIX style timestamps (long numbers that are just a count of time that elapsed since the first of january 1970 at 00:00) almost every programming language also have functions to turn these timestamps into any desired format of date (there are several) be it dd/mm/yyyy or yy/dd/mm.. or anything you dream instead of using the (usually limited) DATE and TIME sql basic types (be it on M$sql or mysql or postgresql or oracle.. etc etc) i usually justdeclare my time variables as numbers and make use of the *NIX time generators and functions to decode it im pretty shure java has it somewhere

    hmmm how about implementing another player mode (like god mode, pk mode) id call it justice mode someone on that mode would be able to initiate combat with anyone regardless of map. the mode could be started as a moderator comand (just like pk and god)... this (as long as is only activaded or de-activated by mods) should bring some interesting situations, like violent bots, or some ocasional moderator roleplay where a mod start justive and god mod on himself and bring some medieval justice in public place ... and some possible interesting contests too

    this is just another flavour to an old topic that came around when the game devs tried to ban same-ip trade well the problems around it is A) as labrat said.. BOTS (but that can be solved as all legal bots need to be acknowledged[sic?] (purple name and all...) so we know which chars are bots. most important... loads of people share connections this mean loads of legit different chars with different users that simply happen to belong to the same household (is fun to play with your family) there is no way of knowing if that two chars in the same ip are on the same player or not. (unless the person confes ) C) enough computer skills to use a search engine (less than one need to play el last time i checked) + 2-3 hours of patience + [a friend (these are easy to find)|a free third party server with really low bandwith(harder to find than friends but not really abismal)] == perfect scheme of ip spoofing for dummies OR one adsl modem + one dial up one == another easy ip spoofing scheme OR etc... rending all identification using IP completely and utterly useless, one has no way of knowing that these two players with different IPs are not in fact the same person. A+B+C == any rule to judge people based on their IPs would hurt inocent honest families/friends having a nice time togheter and would not really be in any way effective against "the real threat" dont take my word on it.. read the thread by roja "should cheating be accepted on EL" (or something on these lines

    go to a multicombat map and gng up on some critter? i mean, each will gain some fighting experience you have a group..... so.. so...
  7. Pp Reset

    hmmm in one side we have the sudden need to help the very high level players to bear with the consequences of their "heavy testing" in the otherside we have the endless possibilities to exploits the said help could open. well.. lets try to reach a compromise shall we? my suggestion is: <suggestion> -make it for a fee as stated by smooms -make it possible for only X pps (meaning you get the option to take out X from certain attributes and put the same quantty on others) make that X high enough to help the highlevels get out of their freak status but low enough to avoid the obvious exploitation my suggestion of X is 20. ymmv. -make the possibility only payable a limited amount of times in predefined level boundaries (one chance at level 100, another at level 120, another at level 140.. etc) this is doubly useful as a) people would still endeavour in some "heavy testing" as smoms or dp knowing that eventually they can pay to get out of the said "freak status" changing atributes on a whim would not happen as you would have to think very inteligently your pseudo reset moves.. 20 levels are not easy to make at that OA... - and specially , make it only a withdraw/reinsertign in attributes.. the only way to let a perk go should still be the full #reset </suggestion>
  8. New Way To Sell Stuff

    I had a similar idea not too long ago, in my version the service would be free I would do a bot that takes things from one person and a price to sell the said thing, he would store an "account" (created inside him automatically) for each player, and the player can anytime a) put more items (with a pre-set limit of X wares to sell) get the money and the name of who bought if the item was sold c) take the item back if it was not sold and he regretted d) change the selling price a small webpage would share the same database as the bot and allow people to quickly chec for things to sell )or if they wares were sold) while not on el. the bot would not generate income as every penny would return to the sellers, it was meant as a lil service to the community. I started designing it and stopped , still have a fairly good idea on how to do it (meaning I could cough up the code in "little" time and [test/debug] in some weeks) the idea got shot down by myself over 6 issues 1 - it would NEED to use storage (againt the rules...) 2 - it would NEED spiffy atributes to be useful and Im not really with those 100$ hanging around in my wallet 3 - I have no idea of the bandwith that it would eat a website where players would connect for a quick market view 4 - it would hinder the selling bot model, people would feel less interest in paying 20-100$ to EL to have their bots when they can have a similar service with no profit loss... 5 - it would make the marketplace less lively, prices would float less and people would risk less, after all they will all be able to sell while afk or disconnected, so loads of market deals and fluctuations that are due a certain urge of the crowd would simply stagnate, not counting the community goodness that is the market channel that while not dying would take a huge hit. 6 - 4 and 5 are in the scenario were it would work at all, popular attachment does not in fact occur that easily, eternal _broker offers a completely different service (sspeaking on the market for you), which in theory makes things easier to everyone, and still, its not used by even 10% of the el population

    OH!! i know i know! lets make another server completely pai (20$ per X amount of time to play on it) with absolutely no difference from the free server whatsoever on the features etc only everybody there can use paid races and cahnge their name and apparace once each X amount of time and also pay Y$ for raiisng any attribute they want by 1 point! i mean , think of the incredible community this selected place would have! </sarcasm>

    you can call me retentive on that one but imho exp from fighting comes from fighting not killing, one can become a master fencing without ever taking out life. this is the main advantage of skill training games (such as el , morrowind, dagerfall.. etc etc) over games with genereic xp per kill (final fantasy series, diablo etc) surely one can say that spending years fighting barefist will give you much evasive training and attack training but will never make someone proficient with a sword and that woudl be true, but the way of correcting it is not giving generic experience (in the same way that, i know is not your sugestion, someone shoudl nto be able to simply gain genereic skillpoints and evolve his crafting levels killing critters) if you want more realism, then we shoudl implement different martial skills besides one big generic "attack" , blade weapons, perforation weapons bludgeonic weapons, barehanded fighting etc.. this would solve the oh so terryfing "im a better swordman by fighting with my barehands" this woudl also level things out... as training with a deadly weapon should be more dificult.. your enemy dies faster so you have less of a chance to sutdy your blows unless he heals.. this also allows frindly trainingas it exists.. which really opens space for the few people role-playing (master and disciple anyone?) and it allows people who finally DO want to stay a whole carrer as a barehanded fighters to avoid penalties by changin the system. of course it would be more dificult (as the more compelte solutions useually are) but is not far-fetched. and is more realistical and assuring than the "kill fozzle X for xp and kill fozzle Y for more xp" scheme. you spend your day training your swordmanship .. you should swing more graciously and precisely than someone who trained with his barehands.... etc etc... get my drift?

    portuguese, french, english and althought i do not speak spanish I usually have no troubles communicating with the colombians, bolivians and peruvians I've met I a also know a few ridiculous words in japanese, korean, german, latin, greek and esperanto but i could not hope to understand a single phrase on those languages as for women's language i use my g/f as a real time translator... er... what? you mean she can lie to me? NONSENSE i say!
