  1. New ISP in US banned?

    Hi, Is it possible that my new ISP (moved to the US) is banned at EL? I still have the same rules on my Cisco ASA like I had in Germany, Port 2000/TCP is allowed. The ASA's Packet tracer shows that everthing is okay as well and packets to 2000/TCP are passed. Is it possible that new ports have to be configured (however no dropped packets in my log) Thank you, sAbotaGe

    Well, Telnet game.eternal-lands.com 2000 is opening a session. Packets to port 2000 are allowed as well. NAT (network address translation) is working as well. However, the client is not able to establish a session. When connected directly to comcast modem, the client is working. But frankly, I do not want to connect anything before my firewall.

Developed two large inhouse appliactions in PHP, working in free time on network infrastructure management application (open source) to monitor, manage and controll Cisco devices.

    Hi, I encountered this "bug" today 3 or 4 times after a trade (player2player) and then opened the storage: I got the "set UID 1" message too. I did now the suggested #save and log off/log on "solution" from channel 6, but I am not sure if it will work now. EDIT: Eternal Lands Version 1.9.1 Beta on Windows 7 Prof. english

  9. Hi, I suggest a #born command #born gives back the creation date of your character (if this is possible with the server, database, etc.) It's just to have an idea how "old" your character is and you can tell tales of the good old times ;-)

    Hi@all, I'm getting sometimes pm's from players I do not know because they're using ctrl+space to auto-complete the player name. The auto-completion should have a bit more intelligence, i. e. I suggest something like a "PM history". If you're thinking this is something like the bash.history, then you're right :-) This could work in this way: 1) ctrl+space is used to auto-complete a name 2) take a look in "PM history" if there is a match 3) complete the name from "PM history" 4) If there is no match, then the player has to write the complete name (for the 1st time) The "PM history" could be implemented on client side to save space on the server.   18. After the ICT spell level was increased to 50 (some time ago when I paused for some month ;-)), I have to use magic potions to cast this spell. Most of the time I cast ICT there is no floating message and the casted ITC spells are not increased in the tab: "Counters -> Spells". I have casted now 10 ICT spells and I saw: - 2 times floating message (instead of 10) - the counter was increased by 2 (instead of 10). But the experience is increased (Magic and OA +225) every time in the tab: "Session -> Magic/Overall" I guess this is a "visual" bug (counter + floating message). I am also not sure if this "bug" happens because I am at magic level 45 and I use magic potions (45+5= level 50) to cast the ICT spell. I would also suggest to shorten the string "Intercontinental Teleport To The Portals Room" to "ICT Portals Room" (or something like that) in "Counters -> Spells" because this string is over- (or better: underwriting) the table column "This Session". regards, DrMabuse

  22. 1st: I explain why I do not like it. Every player has "earned" the experience. For example, I have earned my experience in crafting. I made 2500 Dis rings, 1000 damage rings, votd, naralik rings etc in the last days, total 5000 rings. Every day 1 crafting level. Is this too fast? I think not. Because I played 3-4 month, 12-18 hours a day to get the ore, fire essences, water essences, bars, all the ingredients I need. 3-4 month of hard work to get 5 crafting levels. With this system, you divide the player in 2 classes. The one class will make items, the other class will make experience. This is wrong. 2nd: market. I doubt that this system will change market. For example, the only effect on market after the cooldown-system was that the price of HE has increased from 4gc to 8gc. If you want to control market, then put an NPC in the game who buys rings/medallions. For manu'ed items there is Trik. Trik buys, for example, steel long sword for 425gc. So no player will sell steel long sword below Trik's price. Why not put a NPC for crafter in the game? IF the NPC buys dis rings for 100gc, no one will sell below. 3rd: Instead of thinking about "how can we change the game system", why not put more items in the game? I'm thinking of more rings/medallions. The only new item for crafters was Ring of Power. There is also a new, empty continent. Why not fill it up with more NPC/quests/etc?

    After some hard work I have enough things in storage to make about 5k rings. I take orders for disengagement, damage and votd rings, also a small amount for moon medallions. Dis Rings - 120gc Damage Rings - 120gc VoTd Rings - 110gc Moon Medallions - 280gc Remember, I need 1 Feasting Potion per Ring or Medallion (thanks to cooldown). I also craft rings/medallions if you bring me the ingredients and feasting potions.
