  1. I am trying to make a special potion. I need 10000 Gypsum of which I
have 784, 1200 Amber and I have 440, 50 Refined Vegetal Mixture of
which I already have 0, and finally, 25 Orange of which I already have
    8.

I just gave 5 oranges and 50 amber, thanks to whoever brought the other stuff.

  2. A 1-2 person instance is a fine idea, but if it takes 6 hours, I won't be participating. Two to 3 hours seems more reasonable.

I don't have a fighter build, so I'd rather entry/difficulty include attributes not just straight a/d (my preferred choice). Or as Rabbit suggests. allow one to fight below their a/d.

As for those griping about new content being generated for fighters leaving us all-rounders to keep doing pretty much what we've been doing for years, I am firmly in that camp. I think my non-combat skills are high enough to say that mixing is mixing is mixing; other than the ingredients in the window changing, it's pretty much just mixing. The only real thought that goes into it is where to mix and where/how to collect the ingredients. Once you've figured this out, well, it's just back to grinding again. I need something interesting to do with these skills.

    Here's an old idea: http://www.eternal-l...mixer +instance

What drew me to Eternal Lands is that I didn't have to fight to be engaged in the game (and that female characters by default aren't dressed like whores, never thanked you for that, radu, so I'm doing it now  .) Now that fighting is by far the most developed skill with the most new content I hardly play at all.

By all means continue creating new challenges for fighters, but don't forget about us mixers in the process. Voted yes.

    Please and Thank you,

  3. Don't know if this is helpful, but this is my fix for the missing mini map problem that occurs when I resize the screen.

Say I've increased the screen size for instance, but not the mini map size. After instance I'd resize to smaller screen, restart client, but of course have forgotten to move the mini map to where I can see it (e.g. middle of screen) before restart, so it is effectively 'off screen'. I just increase mini map size til I can just see a part of it in the new, smaller screen then reposition it to where I can see all of it again.

Hope this helps a bit. Don't know if it works with full-screen, never use that mode.

  4. This is how I got custom maps on my Mac 10.10.4 (might not be the best way, but it worked)

In ‘Finder’ under ‘Applications’, right click ‘Eternal Lands’ (assuming that is where it is)

Click ‘Package Contents’, ‘Resources’, ‘maps’ (open the maps folder, it works better if the folder is open, don’t know why, it just does….probably cuz it’s a Mac)

Get custom maps from here: http://life-is-eternal.blogspot.se/p/burned-maps-unofficial-eternal-lands.html

Open the Burned-maps folder, copy all maps and drag them to the ‘maps’ folder in ‘Resources’ folder in EL

You will be replacing maps in that folder with the custom maps, so click ‘Apply to all’ and ‘Replace’

    Restart EL. That should work.

You cannot access ‘Package Contents’ from the short cut on your desktop, you used to be able to, but not now. I don’t know why (maybe Apple hates us).

    Good Luck,

    EM

  5. Day of More Grief

English: Higher chances of items breaking today.

Role Playing: Today our planet is passing throughout an area in our universe where the electromagnetic law is slightly different, and this is causing the armors, weapons, tools and clothes to be slightly weaker, thus increasing their chance to break.

    Day of No Grief

English: No weapons and armors break today (in combat).

Role Playing: Today our planet is passing throughout an area in our universe where the electromagnetic law is slightly different, and this is causing the armors, weapons and clothes to not break for the duration of this day, from normal combat.

Please make it so my tools also don't break on "Day of No Grief".

    Thanks,

    EvanMarie

(One could simply delete 'from normal combat' or add 'mixing or harvesting' in the role playing description and in the English description add 'clothes or tools' and delete 'in combat'

  6. (I don’t know if this has been brought up before; don’t even know how to begin to search other than ‘invasions’ which I'm sure would yield a gazillion hits)

I’ve been thinking of this for a while and with the ants back (thank you, learner) maybe I’m getting nostalgic.

I’d like to see the return of the C1 invasions where several maps at once were invaded and each map had a different a/d range. I know there were problems and the mods had to babysit in each map because overcappers would ruin the fun. I would think that this problem has been solved since we now have capped invasions on single maps and everybody knows to not interfere.

It seems to me that these invasions were ones that people who weren’t great fighters could still enjoy. There were fewer invaded creatures per map so we weren’t overwhelmed immediately and non-fighters could actually survive long enough to enjoy them. Because several maps were invaded (iirc, NC and VoTD were usually the only safe maps) and there were different caps per map, everybody who wanted to defend Serida could do so. Sounds funny, but it seems that then more of us were invested in defending our lands and we could all play a role in that defense because no single a/d range could clear the invasion. Now it is just a matter of which map to avoid and do you want to lose a rosto. I know that rosto-poofing is really the point of invasions, but I’d think if more different people were fighting invasions, in the end the same number would get poofed, it just wouldn’t be from the same 10 people (or whatever the number is).

Some people will say that since we have invances we don’t need multi-capped, multi-map invasions. I’d disagree. A C1-wide invasion puts us all in the same boat: a world full of invaders that we must combat, not a single map where people voluntarily go to fight. Having most of C1 invaded could cause a problem for some people getting their dailies done during the invasion, well that is the price one pays for living in dangerous times when evil monsters invade your lands; besides, tomorrow is another day for doing your dailies.

  7. This goes the other way too. I've heard of stories where he screws his own guildies when they buy from his bot, he will raise the price between trips if it's in bulk.

    What a stand up guy.

As far as I know, the accusation that Susje screws his own guildies when we buy from his bot is false.

This dispute concerns three trades between Domino and LightPresent, let's keep it to that.

  8. Thanks for the reply, Burn.

I agree that the problem is not with Olivine's maps and, as expected, I have the same problem with Bloodsucker maps.

I'm pretty sure there is some setting or whatnot on my computer that is preventing me from using them, I just don't have a clue what it is or where I might find it.

    Thanks,

    EM

  9. I just got a new iMac (OS X 10.9.3) and am having trouble using Olivine's maps. I had these maps installed on my laptop and they worked fine. I don't currently have access to my laptop or I'd just try to load the ones on it onto my new computer. I am using the Mac EL version from Sir_Odie's website.

If I Ioad Olivine's maps before I log onto EL, I connect with server, type in Character name and password and just under the blue 'progress bar' it says "Preparing opening window" and gets stuck right there. There is no blue 'progress bar' just the outline of where the bar would be. This happens regardless of whether the 'shadow bug', 'ATI bug', 'Mouse bug' or 'Poor Man' is on or off. Have not gone so far as to try combinations of these yet.

If i load Olivine's maps after I log on to EL, everything is fine (walking, harvesting, storage, chat, etc) and I see Olivine's map when I hit 'tab'. When I click on the flag to go to a new map, I get the outline of a 'progress bar' but never any blue filling-in of the bar and it says "Done" under it. At this point I can't move or chat or anything else. When I log out then back in, I get what i'd described in the above paragraph. When I then try logging on with the original EL maps, my character is now on the map I was trying to move to before it crashed.

I am not getting the annoying 'spinning pinwheel' in any of these scenarios.

I'm a computer idiot and am sure to solve this someone would need information than I've not provided here. If you need more information, please be really specific what it is and some hints as to how to find it would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    EM

  10. I used a dung teleporter for the first time today and had the same problem that Sulla had had, twice. I just see my character and a black screen. I'm using 1.9.3 and didn't see anything saying I was missing a map file, but tbh, I might not be looking in the right place. Any ideas? I'm using a MacBookPro.

    Thanks,

    EvanMarie

  11. Thanks for the explanation, Burn.

I just checked with Redeemer again and indeed for Xaquelina I have 201/50, guess I needed to log out and back in for the correct amount to be recorded.

And as an FYI, I was interpreting the 251/50 as '251 out of 50' completed not '251 divided by 50 = 50'. It seems it would be clearer if it read 251/250, but that's just me.

    Thanks again,

    EvanMarie
