  3. Game ethics

If u had better options for punishing players that act against your moral codex u could settle problems in game (e.g. by pking those players) instead of discussing on the forums. What i m trying to say is that: Im not against this discussions but u have to face the fact that the people playing this game are just the same kind of people that live in the real world. And what do u do in rl if someone behaves badly? You react appropriately. On main your options are severely limited. Therefore malbehaving players do not have to fear reactions. However on the pk-server the situation is more realistic with higher ethical demands. btw this also explains why there is such a low population and so "little" pk on the pk-server since as long as there are to few bad boys the malbehaviour is a costly strategy. The frustrated single bad boys leave and voila the great surprise: almost no pking between the people that have no reason to pk each other. Then the "good" ones have no one to fight and leave as well. (I guess once a certain population is reached the pk-server will be much more atttractive than main to adult (as regards reasoning) players.) Hm. One would think i was trying to make a point here. Maybe it is just the wellknown "Join our server please! Will you?" from a frustrated pk-player, but maybe... Oh too bad g2g now but im really looking forward to the flaming Edit: Forgot something: The first person to get my point and posting it gets as price a pk-server char with 10kgc and some equipment for a better start
  4. Selling bindings

Selling 2 bindings. pm me in game (LewisCarroll)
  5. Invasion Thread

    Legionaire orcs in votd temple.
  6. Invasion Thread

Just some info about the current invasion (5/19) Penguins in dp and irinveron + stronger monsters said to be in c2 caves somewhere. P.S. We should use this thread more often
  7. Please help me out here: There are pk-areas on main, where you can pk within main-setting. (cooldown, free accounts, fast "buy-a-strong-char"-leveling and yes, also many players). Why have an extra server for this? (especially when you have to delete the alternative setting given on the pkserver) Why make the server just something like a separated main-pk-area? + Why don't all people that quit come back at once? That would mean enough players (and pking since many of those are obviously people wanting to pk badly) AND since there would be a majority of those people, I'm sure the setting could be adjusted democratically (we had things like this before). So: Fix a week or day and come back
  8. Consider this The setting: - No cooldown - a/d capped at 100 (still get oa exp after this) - legal multi - 90 % pk-areas (not within city-walls…) - No harvesting mini events - no exp from PvP - NPCs Horea and Crisam excluded - rosto, vial mold, arrow head mold, albemic 1$ - 20 Inv.meter 10 $ - one bot per guild (Did I forget something?) Arguments for playing on the server mainly derive from the points mentioned above. The community is special I guess – Some say in a good way, some say in a bad way. Fact is: - There is a very limited playerbase by now (between 1 and 24 chars on simultaneously – that’s what I have seen. But that means less players since estimated average number of chars used is 2) - You can level very fast compared to main -> no cooldown, free training spots - There is not very much pking going on by now. This can a plus for new players. On the other hand many people think there’s too little pking going on and leave. So I would say: If you want a server to fight and kill as much other players as possible this is probably the wrong server for you (you might try to level up and pk and do anything you want though). (see the arguments in this thread) If you think the setting is better than on main (e.g. because people are free to decide when to pk, which btw. might result in a state of not attacking everyone in sight ), then come over and support the server by playing it.
  9. @Korrode: Sorry dont meant to be rude above. Well considering it's name and considering like 90% of it is PK areas, i'd think it's a server where you'd expect to be spending most of your time PK'ing. Well that's what I meant: Its just a server named "Pk-Server" and with like 90% PK areas. That does not mean it is a server where you spend most of your time PK'ing. ...and the point of that would be? what? split the 'normal' (not necessarily PK oriented) playerbase (that's already not huge) across 2 servers? Again you misunderstood me here: There just might be people that like the Pk-Server setting better. E.g. I came for the possibility to pk everywhere - not for actual pk-ing or mixing with no cooldown
  10. oops - did I just post this again
  11. Pk-Server is fine as it is now. That is not the problem. The problem is that people seem not to understand what the Pk-Server actually is. There just wont be pking like on main. Its no surprise people are disappointed if they come over to the Pk-server just to pk, not to play EL with a different setting. Maybe it would help to see the Pk-Server as a quite similiar but still different game. Maybe best thing to do is a name-change (sounds lame but some might need this to get things right)+ perhaps a bigger button on the EL site. (And I'm not getting tired to promote this: install an Info-bot on main, to give info or to work as a inter-server-pk-central-thing)
  12. Who the hell are you?

    wb piggy and welcome daiske!
  13. putting cool down back on pots and rings on pots and rings

I think with cooldown we could forget about the copy-option since the pk-server then offered pretty much everyting people demand -> No more excuses for whiny guys. Perhaps that would be best to do since it would be much less problematic than the copy-option.
  14. Main Server 2.0

Just wanted to highlight this ^^: A simple and reasonable solution to a lot of discussions. If you want e.g. no mini events or more pk-ing then invest something (like building a new char on PK). We have two servers - You just have to choose (You don't even really have to since you can play both )
  15. Final Vote: Main->PK Char Copy Proposal

LewisCarroll = no Edit: Changed my mind due convincing arguments against it esp. by proh, dugur, entropy (see various threads )
  16. Another idea to add people

Don't be afraid of change! Some arguments for the char-copy-option: 1. Why not try? Most agree we need more players. It is an option and if we dont do anything things will not change. 2. What is the worst that could happen? People that come over will have to deal with the social structures on PK that are already existent. There had to be a big number of allied strong Chars to rewrite the inofficial "rules" (that established for a good reason, that people from main sometimes perhaps can't understand without having played the Pk-Server). And even if there was (what is not very likely to be). There might be two fraction - the original Pk-people sticking eith the old ways and the new group. Then they might actually have a reason to fight. So what? Even if player swith 100a/d come over. They'd still be o/a 0! I guess it can be pain in the a$$ to get the o/a levels without getting a/d exp. And how long would it take for those to beat the 100 a/d-Players that we have now on the server? So I guess a balance of power would be preserved in one way or another... 3. For which players is the copy-option interesting? For the reasons mentioned above i think it is no "incredibly great and unfair to all others"-option for players with high a/d. In my opinion it might be more interesting for mid-level players, who dont want o belong to a nameless crowd that can never catch up with the Top-Players on main. 4. Who is affected on PK? Pk-wise I think the most powerful players would be mages or archers to come over. A level 100 mage could be indeed quite annoying on a Pk-Server As for the Mixers: Would u make more or less profit? I think prices on the PK-Server are much too low by now considering how rare enriched ess and stones are. So at least the prices wouldn't drop too far. And the demand? Not sure if the copy option wouldn't improve it. But maybe some mixers have to write on this. (Edit: And of course guildless players might have to consider joining a guild if they aren't strong enough to protect themselves...) 5. What if everything turns out to be a big mistake? I think we could limit the damage by implementing a time limit for the copy as said before. So here's what i propose to do, so we don't get stuck in discussion: - Work out a concept for the copy-option: For example: 3 month time limitation (could be change by ent later if necessary) + restriction: only chars up to 80 a/d (or below 100 if people agree) can be copied + they start with empty sto and 0 o/a to get this done we should have a new poll (restricted to Pk-server players) about that concept. Question is: Would a majority agree to this (a little refined, since I think the changes matter to people) concept? - Having the concept fixed, start a forum thread (or similiar info-campaign) to inform main-players - After end of the 3 month, having a solid player base (at least a better one than now), establish a continuous information/advertising about/for the Pk-server (e.g. the bot mentioned before) The thing is: We have to keep things realistic and as simple as possible. Of course there can always be problems or things that one might not like. But we now also have something we do not like: few players... Do something or get ready to wait some more years for something to happen
  17. Another idea to add people

i mean after that time there wouldn't be a way to copy new chars. I understand that the ones already copied would stay.
  18. Another idea to add people

I dont think this is a perfect idea. However, as long as no one has a better idea I say we should give it a try. Perhaps the option to copy chars could be limited, like for example till end of the year or 6 month. Btw I think it would help a lot if we could have a officially approved PK-Server-Info-Bot on IP on main. (We could pay for it the way we pay for the GIWS. Just another idea...
  19. Invasion Thread

1/10 temple-invasion left are by now: unolas: pw selain: sslessar mortos: armed orcs check for invisible rats!
  20. Attribute Removal Stones

Voted no. -> as I see it solution is (as always) to get more people to play on pk. As long as there are few people it is just harder to get stuff. But thats just what it is like now and I like it this way. (blabla... u get my point. too lazy to write more )
  21. buying bones

Buying bones for 0,25gc/bone (4k bones = 1k gc) Pretty much any amount
  22. buying bones

ah ok didn't know the price. well...worth a shot
  23. TY Entropy

Just adding a BIG TY from another very happy PK player
  24. PK-Server-Cup

Hi everyone! It is summer and the number of players on the pk-server is very low. So I made up a plan which could be fun and bring some more people to the server: IDEA: Let’s have two teams of at least 3 players with at least 5 new chars compete over some time (maybe 3 month). I think it would be best if team-members were from the same guild on main for several reasons: 1. The whole thing could be seen (and sold) as a “main”-competition using the pk-server as kind of arena. 2. Since I am willing to give out 5 chars for free it would be good to find someone trustworthy. This is easier with guilds since they have a certain reputation. (I don’t play on main so I really don’t know many people there) 3. Maybe after finishing the competition the guildmaster might decide to start an offspring on pk using the chars levelled during the contest. But after all I do not care that much who joins the contest as long as people are fair and honest. The advantage for the participants: Players have others in their own strength and level to pk. And via that contest one could bridge the problem that people have to start from level 1. The advantage for the server: More players – some might even consider to keep playing on the server. NEEDED: Sponsors for chars and prices, suggestions for goals (like: first team making item X gets…, the player who has the most killed the most chars from the other team after 4 weeks gets…, the first team to create a guild…), rules (as less as possible) etc. So what do you think about this?
  25. PK-Server-Cup

Thx for the support! Really like that frag idea! I also think that the idea of a first stage on main is good. But as regards this I'm out since I don't play main/don't know any1 there. So that would be up to you. However to get concrete: I'm in for (as said before) 5 chars = 1 Team - they are just matching so nicely (should we have a limit?) single player goals: - first to cast harm gets 100 DE - first to reach fluffy-summoning lvl gets 1 ELE team goals: - first team to kill a female gob gets 100 BR + UniMed for each teammember I really have little good stuff for rewards but maybe I'll have some better when guildwars start. (I think it is no problem to make up new goals and rewards as the contest proceeds. @dht: would u be willing to take/distribute the prices? (Would be enough if u were on at fixed times during contest.) ? how is proven that a goal is reached ? -> I think pic in forum or witness (neutral player) in game (for example in case of the harm-goal). Any suggestions?
