  1. Crash On Map Change

    About the CVS version crash. It crashes immediately after login in display_actors() trying to call ELglActiveTextureARB which is NULL (also ELglClientActiveTextureARB). I have no knowledge of OpenGL, but it looks like some verification of some extension initialization/existance was removed.

    Windows CVS version crashes on one PC at work on startup, while working fine on another. I compiled it with MSVC 6 with project from cvs. The only thing I can think of is that it's old PC (P2 350Mhz) with crappy graphic card. Version 1.0.0 barely worked there with poor_man enabled.

    I compiled it yesterday with -DPOSSIBLE_FIX and tried to enter nordcarn again. It didn't crash, but it became locked after some retries. Client displayed the NC cemetary instead of the entrance and I couldn't move. I could eat though.

  6. Randomization Errors!

    sometimes i get many similar events in a row. for example before autoharvesting change i could get about 10 harv successes then 10 failures and so on. If I break a pickaxe, I usually break the next one few minutes after. Same goes for fighting, if I get a rare item, there is a good chance i'll get another one soon. The same is true for alchemy/potions failure rates too.

    tried again - still doesn't work. before using: Reasoning: 8/8 Perception: 7/7 Rationality: 12/12 Dexterity: 12/12 after: Reasoning: 13/8 Perception: 9/7 Rationality: 14/12 Dexterity: 12/12

    Description for reasoning says that it increases dexterity, perception and rationality. But my dexterity does not increase when I drink reasoning potion. Also, description for power saving cloak (and perk) says that food does will not decrease when not restoring stats and not researching, yet it does not work when harvesting.

  12. Damn New Harvest System

    The problem I see with StKenjutsushi suggestion is playability. I can't think about someone who would like to make harvesting an ingame profession. It is so tedious. So, IMHO, it either should be very fast or give a good reward and probably be more interactive. This also holds for alchemy. The whack a mole idea isn't bad, but does not eliminate speed problem. If you want to take speed course, how about increasing harvested amount with the level, so as your level grows higher you will be harvest 10-50 items at once. To take a reward course, finding rare items or large amounts of money could be implemented again.

  15. Disbalanced Economy

    Well it's quite obvious that players investing a lot of hours in the game will advance faster than those investing less hours. I think it's true for almost every game. IMHO this is not the symptom of disbalance by itself. As I mentioned I'm playing about 5 or 6 weeks and yesterday just reached OA level 50 (Yessss!!!!). But I developed several skills - harvesting (level 43, and is a must for most activities), alchemy (35), attack/defence (24/26) and also some crafting (11), magic (15) and a bit of manufacturing. And I invested quite a bit of time in this. Also, its clear that you advance much faster after #reset, since you can go straight for higher level items which give more experience. You are probably right, but if someone likes harvesting lilacs for a week - it's ok with me, since I would throw this game out of the window if forced to do this for even 1 day Rare items are easy to get - I'm probably with you on this one, even though I never had any of iron plates, greaves or cuisses - and don't have money to get them. On the other hand I do own steel shield, tit chain, serpent sword, tit long and tit short sword. I think the devs really MUST MUST MUST introduce much more items in the game. I don't think time limiting for manufacturing is the right way though.
