  1. Hopefully I'm not missing out and there's already a top players list somewhere or something.............but if there isnt one.... A thought came to me that It'd be interesting to see just what I'm up against, how far I've got to go to reach the rest of the oldbies. Then I thought about Runescape (since I played that game a good deal in the past) and I remembered that there was a list of the top players for each skill level and one list for top players overall, and a ranking within the skill level compared to the other top players. I just thought it might be a decent idea, if not for now then for further on down the road, as I'm sure there are more urgent and pressing matters to deal with for the moment. It's just something I'd like to see eventually, since it can be done rather simply buy just making an additional page dedicated to "top players list" or something similar on the EL website, or perhaps you could simply add an overall ranking number (or rank compared to other players in individual skills as well perhaps) to the already existing stats on the "Players Online" page? Anyways, just thought I'd bring up the suggestion, as I'm sure it would appeal to other players as well. Hopefully, like I say, I'm not missing out on something that's already been done >_< Good idea? Bad/unnecessary idea? There already is one and im just too newbie to find it? What do you all think?
  2. If you really don't have enough time to walk somewhere rather than relying on teleporting, then why are you playing a MMORPG in the first place? These games take time, lots and lots and lots of time. I think it'd be a good idea to limit the use of portals personally, because then all the effort put into making the maps and everything within them can be more appreciated, because no one will walk all that way when they have a choice otherwise, and not only that, the portals just seem out of place. You've got ships to take you from Isla Prima to White Stone, and yet here's a couple of portals to use instead?......sorry, but I just don't like the idea of the portals in the first place. I can see teleportation magic being a perfectly appropriate addition, perhaps using the existing portal spots as catalysts for the spells or something? More importantly than that though, the zoom feature would be a good idea. It'd solve the problem of movement being too limited, plus you wouldn't have to worry about other suggested implementations such as tracking mouse clicks on the map, or constantly holding down the mouse in the direction you wish to go. With a broader view, you'd need to click less to get where you wanted to go, plus you could see your surroundings much easier, both of these things I'd consider to be of benefit to the game.
  3. A zoom feature, or just a broader expanse for our view, is indeed a good idea. The thought of that occured to me as well, because it really is rather tedious clicking the mouse and watching my character move 3 steps only to have to keep clicking over and over again to reach a destination. Plus aside from that, a broader view of surroundings is just a good idea in itself. Although, I don't think there is anything wrong with the portals as they are now. If they were all interconnected, there would be no point to the rest of the map. I mean why walk if you could just teleport all over the place? Nah, if you ask me, they're fine how they are now, and if anything, they should just be removed, so that players are forced to traverse the entire map, and not be able to use the portals at all, or perhaps once they reach a certain level, then make the portals available to those who've worked to earn the right to use them. And about your first idea, what would be the purpose of doing that? It would probably be a lot more work than it seems like, and the result would be a rather pointless one... :?
  4. Change the System for....

LEXIC, it sounds like a decent idea, but I dont think 100% chance of making an item once you just barely reach the target level to make the item would be good. I'd say perhaps make a 5 or 10 level leeway. Using your example of level 21, make it so you can start with a small percentage of success to make the item 5 or perhaps 10 levels below that, depending on how much you'd prefer to divide the percentages. Then once you reach the level required, I'd say a 60-75% chance of success would be appropriate, and then make it a few more levels above the requirement (3, 4 or perhaps even 5) before you'd make the item 100% of the time. This would represent an effect similar to a learning curve, and as you became more experienced, you'd be able to become more successful in your attempts at making certain items. Oh, and also, I wouldn't bother with making the scrap item that you have to drop, because that's rather pointless. If you fail, you'd just use up the resources and not make anything. It'd save the hassle of having to drop a bunch of useless scrap all over the place. Seems like a good idea to me as well. Although not totally necessary, it'd be nice to be able to have even a small chance of success below the target level of producing various items, just in case its your lucky day or something
  5. Just a minor suggestion...

Ehh.........no..........didnt know that....*sighs* oh well, I guess that's what I get for being a Newb. Thanks for the tip. Sorry for the mostly useless post then
  6. I'm newbtastic still, but I really like EL so far. I thought whilst running around on Isla Prima and happening upon the campsite(I think?) where lots of people like to sit down and relax, that it would be nice if I knew who they all were. So err, I guess my suggestion is for player usernames to be shown with the characters, like say above the lifebar, or perhaps underneath their feet or something. Just a thought. ~KnightOfMana~
