OK, some folks on the PK server have questions (please keep in mind that most of us have never even seen a mule).
How do mules fight?
If I were to get PKed as a mule, could I still attack, or are we talking sure death at the hands of weakling alts unless I change out of mule form? Can I heal with potions? What's up with the frozen thing if you change back out of a mule? Does that mean I can't diss and teleport to range without dropping stuff? Can mules even use rings?

Um..does it work if you click on the exe in the file directory? Try that before trying the shortcuts... but the shortcut should read something like this in the properties TARGET field:"C:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\el.exe" pk
I tried starting it from the exe and it didn't work. I checked the shortcut and it is exactly as you said ("C:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\el.exe" pk).
So, I completely uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. Same thing. This is all I get on the log in page:

I'm trying to update the boyfriends PC (Windows XP).
A few months ago I got labrat's (
) cvs thingy with the "sto all" and "get all," so when I did the 1.8 update, I erased the old shortcuts and made new ones. The problem is, it won't connect to the server unless I type cvs back into that properties line.I don't know what a cvs is, but the pk server people are telling me that I should have some "mix all" button that I don't have, so I imagine it has something to do with this.

This is going to be hard. There is a possibility that ^v^ or the allied guilds could succeed separately, and eventually I imagine we're going to try it that way, but our best chance at getting this right the first time is together.
Both teams alone are looking at about four higher leveled players and one weaker, possibly potted player. Add to the disadvantage that we have of lesser armor/weapons. From the pics I'm looking at, most people are in full black dragon or titanium. I don't think either group can get a team of full titanium, let alone black dragon
.And as for "whoever spends the most should get the best loot," I don't agree. We're looking at potentially ruining some pretty good gear, some of which there is only one or two of on the entire server. That's just going to end up in huge arguments.
Honestly, I think we need the max (9?) in the best gear if we're going to succeed the first time. Following our first successful run, we can break up and try it individually.
150 hours is a long time to wait if we fail.

I'm not gonna sponsor the GIWS.This part I don't get. I know you go to the invasions when they are announced, so why not contribute to the announcement?
Edit: I know that ^v^ is up for a joint-ops to tackle the instances, how about the other guilds? If they don't want to cooperate there is nothing to talk about anyway...We've worked together before in other competitions, and there were a lot of good invasions together, too. With the guild idea there's no fear of "misclicks" (particularly at the end). I just want to try it, and I think it could be fun as a server.
Edit: Plus, with the guild idea, anyone healing summons would heal ALL the summons, and we avoid that whole summons attack other players and summons thing.

The idea came up today to create a special guild just for instances. We could schedule a day/time for the instance, then join the guild a day or so in advance (in case the GM can't be on that day), and then leave the guild right after. Obviously, GMs would have to hand over their 20 ranking to an alt, but otherwise I don't see any glitches.
Kaldoon, as a neutral character on the server, would make a great GM for the guild, but of course that's up to Bkc.
So, three questions:
1. Are there any old, no longer active guilds that we could resurect to save 30k gc and who wouldn't mind making Kaldoon a level 19 and a name change?
2. If not, could we all split the 30k gc price (no fair asking Bkc to pay since he'd be doing us a favor)?
3. Does this sound like a good solution?
Oh, and a fourth only slightly related question about splitting larger loot items:
4. Could they be sold and used to pay for GIWS?

brod only helps the economy on normal server, on pk server it only ruins the game

The PK server is celebrating its one year anniversary with events and prizes spanning three days! If you're an old friend of the server, or have been thinking about getting an account, now's the time!
The celebration will be ongoing from the 27th to the 29th with events happening every three hours (at 0:00 and 3:00 ingame time). HUNDREDS of prizes will be given away!

Those interested in polishing off their summoning skills may use this opportunity to show off get experience, others may work on att/def by slaughtering what they can, and others can sit around and giggle every time one of Requiem's Armed Orcs kills someone (or remote heal, your choice). ONE YEAR! In this time we've seen a lot of friends come and go, and come and go again. Since so many people play back and forth on both servers, I'm announcing our huge celebration event in this thread to make sure everyone with a PK server account remembers to stop in, say hi, play a game, and join the fun.
From December 27th to 29th, the PK server will be holding many, many events hosted by most of our regular players. Everyone is welcome!
Here's the schedule of events so far. Each event begins either at 0:00 or 3:00 game time. Saturday's events will begin at the first 0:00 game time when most of us are on. I know, that's tricky, but if someone wants to do the calculations, I'll be thrilled. I can't do the math that far ahead.

This list is fantastic! I'm sorry I've been away for a few days. I'm up in DC right now doing the whole family Christmas thing, so I don't plan to be back full time until the 26th.
I've heard in game that some people have a few more events to add, so please post those ideas here. It doesn't have to be big (small events help keep the server talking and active). The idea behind the celebration is just to keep everyone talking and having fun, so that leaves a lot of room for different ideas.
I'm also posting this in the main forum events page, and I'm going to try to get it onto the calendar.

Another note: I'm going to have to scratch the Win A PK character on the main server event on the 26th since I won't have time to plan it. If anyone else is interested in running it, I'll still donate a character (and if I'm online, I can help).

Me and my brother are happy not attacking people as long as others do the same.it seems as though Woodeh is not planning on honoring this statement, he killed me and RotationZ while we were fighting a GIWS invasion in NC. He claims that his brother never told him about that agreement...just to warn you all.
Watch you back during GIWS invasions. Community rules refer only to spawned invasion that used to be held by MrHide and that we hope (if teh god has the time for the PK Server) someone can hold in the near future.
I've always considered GIWS invasions acceptable PK since it's a good chance to bring together some higher level players who are dressed for a fight already anyway. We should have some events when people can expect to get to PK, and in my opinion, GIWS is one of them.
So for clarity sake, I think many of us can agree on the following:
PK during a moderated invasion will result in a very angry server and retribution by the victim's guild members and friends (not to mention the drama...Oh the drama)
PK during GIWS is at the player's discretion. Reactions from the rest of the server will vary.

Dear understanding moderators,
Sygon is a very old name. I'd like to end this account and start a fresh one using SyWren as my name. Since changing over to the PK server, some main server friends have tried to forum PM me, but couldn't find me due to this old name. I've tried to create a new account as SyWren, but it was not approved. I'm sure this was in protection of my identity, and I really appreciate that.
I understand that having two forum accounts is an issue with voting and whatnot, but I will delete this account as soon as the SyWren account is confirmed (or you can do it
). I also understand that any overlapping uses of the two names (indicating that both accounts exist) would result in a complete forum ban. This won't happen. I think we've all figured out that I'm a forum junkie. I'm almost as addicted to these forums as I am to the game itself.

It doesn't seem quite right to me to have ranking based on the day/month/year someone happens to stumble on EL. New players should be welcomed and encouraged to level rather than always promised a place at the bottom of the list.

Wow pki is getting smoked -_____- must be alot that dont pk voting ffs!Only 49 people have voted. Considering the numbers that most polls get, this is very low, which indicated that either 1. People don't care enough about pki to read the thread and bother to vote, or 2. They have read the thread, but aren't voting because they don't PK.
I'd trust the numbers on this one. Personally, I didn't vote because pki is completely irrelevent to the PK server. I just like to read.
