Kat has made some good points and no everyone may agree with them but they are her beliefs , Are them beliefs any less valid than a person who beleives in Religion ? no of course not. Some may post that God is a bug eyed green alien (example) but if that is what they trully believe then are they wrong ? Is there anymore less proof ? no. In a belief system of any kind founded on no proof no one is right and no one is wrong ,its all about personel interpritation . Sadly, this is where many people begin to loose their faith in God.. The universities try to push science as the ultimate authority. But remember, many of the "truths" science claims are built on theory. Science has been wrong many times after teaching a "truth" for many decades or even centuries. That is true but doesnt Religion suffer the same faults and also trys to be the Ultimate authority ?

Well, obviously players must enjoy PVE more than PVP, because as some of you remarked (which is the truth) the PK is almost dead. I tried all kind of things to revitalize it, but if none of them work, well, then I'd better focus my resources on more lucrative things, such as the player owned cities. I am sure that most of the players will like that. I tried all kind of things to revitalize That is true and the Devs could if they wished try other things to try and revitalize it even further but would they be worth it ? No rostos,old school Pk maps etc etc could all be implemented but would it change anything ? or would we be having this same convo in 3 months time but about differant issues . Personally I dont think Pk will change for the better until players attitude and mindset towards PK change,people in my opinion have got to stop seeing Pk as a way to win uber items and more of a contest between 2 human controlled characters and yes i agree cost is an issue for players and no one wants to lose 200k's worth of items but no one is forced to wear 200k items but they do and Why ? 1) other pkers wear them so to be equal you have to 2) certain players dont want to lose ,the games not about the fun its about the winning " Im going to wear all my best items in Pk so I pwn everyone" Its the win at any costs mentality ,which is also another reason Pk might suffer because i dont think the majority of the EL community thinks like that .Thats why no drop day is so popular ,players who wouldnt normaly go into Pk arenas can go and have FUN without the risk of some Uber fighter just jumping on them and taking there items ( if certain Pkers find it fun to kill anyone who walks into a Pk area even if thoses people are 50-100 levels lower than them ,well they only got themselves to blame the Pk is dying) Pk should be all about Fun not "what can i win" Is Pk dead no just yet but seriously on life support and the answer to reviving it holds not in Ents/the devs hands but in the players themselves. Edit: totally agree with Ent he shouldnt be concerned about just one small aspect of the game ( ie pking) he has got to look at the game as a whole and not seperate parts and make it fun for the majority (I want say all because cant please everyone all the time)

Because there is no risk of losing items and only a small risk of items being broken.so anyone old or noob can go in and no have to worry about losing things (which is what this post has turned into = loss of expensive items) so if that loss factor wasnt there or was greatly reduced by Pkers only wearing cheap items then the fields would attract more players. a lot a diff between losing 100k worth of items and 10k's worth . Another reason the fields dont get full at the moment and not pointing the finger at anyone but for someone new to Pking theres no incentive because certain Uber level Pkers will attack them .so they have been in been killed by someone 50-100 levels higher than them and dont go back .I always thought and proberly wrongly that Pking is all about the thrill of the battle and pitting yourself against other players,not noob slaughtering . El is a game and a game should be about fun. and thats fun for everyone not just a certain few high level ones

In this topic we try to repair pk, give some new ideas, not just speak about pk and leave it the same. And even with these "old school PK" maps will works (people will go there), then we will have next problem, for what we need new stuff? Only for training? Then for what new swords?. And what if they don't work? I think you are missing my point. There is nothing Wrong with PK its not the games fault any problems with Pk stem solely from the ppl who do it and how they do it,unless you level up the playing field in terms of items between noobs and hardcore Pkers then soon the Hardcore Pkers are going to be the only ones who do it,as characters Brein you would more than likely pwn mine im only 39/42 a/d but if all i had to lose was a little tit chain and serp and a bit of pride then i would go into PK areas just for the fun of it. Yes i can do that now but wheres the fun in getting jumped on as soon as you walk into Pk by some character in there strongest and most ebul items ?

Answer is simple . Leave most Pk maps the same and make certain maps " Old school Pk only" (armour up to tit chain and serp swords) Then those who want to sit around KF all day using there Thermal serp as an extension of there manhood can and those who want to old school Pk (with proberly more ppl and therefore more fun) can do the same .no one is then forced to do anything they dont want to ,and if ppl want to use a rost for old school PK for a few cheap items more fool them

Pking is as cheap or as expensive as the players want to make it.You dont have to wear full tit plate,col,nmt cape etc to have fun pking but ppl do why ? because someone else wears it and to stand a chance you have to try and match the items worn by your opponent.The answer to Pking lays in the hands of Pkers no one else and until they realise that to have fun doesnt always mean wearing the most expensive/best stuff then the problem will continue ( rosts as Ent pointed out arnt going anywhere so untill Pkers start wearing items that cost less than a rost then problem will be there) Maybe the answer is in the Devs hands and they have to make certain Pk areas off limits to certain items. ie: no armour above iron,no weapon above tit serp etc. and im sure over time this area would get more use than standard Pk areas why ? answers easy like been said before cost. My self personally i dont PK ( non-pk guild) but if i could and in an area where everyone is on an even footing item wise and with only the risk of losing 10-15k of items then yeah i would PK , to me its not about the drops (plenty of good monster drops) its about testing youself against another human player . Edit: bagjumping is not against EL rules but the community has made it into an un official law ,so maybe the PK community should get together and draw up there own list of Pk rules ( what you can and cannot wear etc)

Holy words... sad but true If Pking is supposed to be all about fun as i hear a lot of you saying. why dont you get together with the dev/mods/guilds/each other and organise contests/tournements.if enough of you get involved they dont have to be a one off thing. You could even make them so you dont risk anything but pride and a bit of gold. Example: Boxing contest (entrance fee ???? gold) Rules: no armour, no weapons,no magic,no healing (disqualified if heal) just a straight out punch up between 2 characters winner goes to nxt round (then its all about the best character not whos bought/got/stolen the best items) You could even do inter guild tag matches one player dies nxt guildmember enters .winner last guild standing. Theres plenty of opportunitys and possible ideas for people to have fun pking without a loss of items.

I know its NEVER going to happen but would be nice if all the PKers got together and decided right " we are only going to go and pk in iron plate and serp " no need for rosto ,no losing expensive items if you die. in effect make Pk cheaper then a lot more people would PK. I know it wont happen because you will always get someone come along in full tit armour ,thermal serp etc to spoil for fun for the majority

Me and sparhawk disagree on most things but must admit Europeans are no better or worse than any one else.Some times Differant cultures dont mix well with each other and that is not a political or religious things just an upbringing thing Cultures do not always mix well ,not saying all the time or even most of the time but not all the time You start taking a mixture of people from many differant countrys and put them all in one melting pot you are going to sometimes get culture clashes. It happens in Britain quite alot and I dont mean English whites against Other Races more often than not its one immigrant group against another. Albanias vs Turks, Turks vs Kosovans, Pakistani vs Indian ( history thing ), Pakistani vs Africans etc etc etc. You can not expect or believe that placing people with totally differant upringings ,religion,beliefs,moral codes is 100% succesful 100% of the time its not possible A lot of immigrants are less racially tolerant than British people for no other reason than ignorance and thats not saying they are not educated or thick but because they havent had the contact with Africans/asians/ etc other countrys have.
