In RL, people with what's considered to be "true" black hair (not very dark black-brown) have a bluish tint to it. (I have relatives with this color hair, it's very striking.) Perhaps that's why the black hair appears bluish in the game. NOTE: I didn't have anything to do with the awesome graphics in EL, just hazarding a guess. Llyn

There are a lot of females in game, I just don't think we've all seen this thread yet. I'm female in RL and EL. I've never felt harassed for being a female in game nor have I felt like I've gotten special treatment. It's one of the things I love about EL, it's a friendly community of good people who for the most part treat each other well. At least that's been my experience for the past year and a half. I've made some great friends here and met the love of my life too. On that note, I can attest that Korrode is definitely a male in RL...and a very fine one at that! Llyn

Tested on three computers here, all in various states of useability. The older two have the most recent drivers available for their chipsets. Here are the results: #1- My main system is actually in great shape, recently rebuilt with p4 2.8 ghz, 2 GB ram, and a NVIDIA 7600GT. EL already worked well on it, graphics seem a little smoother and seem to load faster with new patch. #2- Sony VAIO laptop, 1.6 Intel Centrino dual core processor with 1 GB RAM and onboard video (Intel 845 express chipset). I've been playing the latest version of EL on poor man to keep FPS up at faster levels. After installing patch, turned everything on. FPS stayed up and maps seem to load a lot faster. Ferny is right, PV is a good test for all things laggy. Still stayed up in the 40's on this map, so I'm very happy #3 My ancient, hand-me-down crapola cooking computer. Yep, that's right, I cook and play EL. I am truly addicted! (Gotta use those RL frying pans once in a while.) This machine is running Windows 2000, 2.4 ghz Celeron, 512MB and ancient on-board video (32MB, maybe). If I put a decent video card in it, it wouldn't be so bad. But for now, even on poor man, it's SLOOOOOW. After patch, I could walk around PV with every setting but reflections turned on. I get 10-20 FPS in PV. I could not even go on that map before. And maps definitely load faster. Hurray! Cooking and playing EL just got better! Thanks for the new patch and hope the article is a big hit in that German mag! Llyn

Wow, the EL mods are certainly giving away some exotic prizes lately: Maybe I could get one for Korrode. It would go well with teh horns and that devilish smile. LOL! Llyn

My first guild was RICH, where I met the love of my life, Korrode , and learned how not to be a n00b. I stayed there for quite a while, but eventually followed my honey to KOTR (Knights of the Roundtable). The GM and some of its founding members became inactive and left EL, so the remaining active members formed WTF (Watchers of the Flame). After about a week as WTF (and plenty of snickering), we changed the name to KTF (Keepers of the Flame). I'm happy to call it home whenever I can snag some time online. Currently work and school keep me busy, but hoping that 2008 will also bring a certain draegoni to this side of the world to keep me even busier! Llyn

Why not do an EL version of a one-act play festival? Keep the "one acts" short- 5 minutes or so, and have several teams working on different ones. Could even be a contest with prizes for the winning team. I bet some of our resident role players might take an interest. Don't get discourage by lack of initial response on the forums though. Not everyone reads them every day (heck, lately I've been so busy I can't even play EL every day! The horror!!!!! ) There is interest, it just may take a while to reach everyone. Llyn

If you take something without paying for it or earning it (and it wasn't a gift), it's considered stealing. That definition doesn't change just because it happens in a game. Bag jumping and HB "treasure hunts" are both forms of taking something you didn't earn and haven't paid for. You can try to rationalize it all you want, but it's still stealing. There are just no legal repercussions in EL as there are in RL to deter people who are tempted to do it. Llyn

I work at a hospital in Health IT doing help desk and network support/troubleshooting. I'm currently working on my computer certifications. So far I've got my A+ and Network+ and have begun work on my MCSE. Will also do Security+ and Linux+ early next year. My goal is to become a network administrator or a systems engineer of some kind. Or maybe take over the IT world with my sweetheart, Korrode, by my side (we're both hardcore computer geeks.) In the past I've been a web editor, a postal worker, a software store manager and a military broadcaster (Army). I also designed, wrote and managed my own e-zine/web community for 5 years. In my "free time" I like to act, write, sing, and play plenty of EL! I can safely say I've never been bored and never plan to be! Llyn

Acelon, I think you've done a great job with the invasions and many of us have encouraged you to get into character more (I know I have). Sounds like you were trying something new and it didn't turn out as planned. But wow, wish I'd been there. Would've loved to have been PK'ed by a god! Sounds like fun!
