  2. PK server maps out-of-date

Hey, it looks like the maps in the client do not correspond to the maps on the PK server anymore: This one for example is Zirakinbar insides, which appearently got recently updated. Is there any way to fix this? Looking forward to your response and thanks for keeping the PK server alive!
  3. **Generation X**Harvesting** - the 3rd Degree

I'd like to order: 20k emeralds = 60kgc ign: Beol Thanks a lot
  4. daily quests

    Why should i do the quest and become a serper too ? >_> And i dont whine. I just say my opinion. Finally i am part of EL too, so my opinion counts as much as yours. Just see things a bit more sophisticated. Not everything that shines, is gold. I dont care if radu destroys my favorite training place. But at least i hope that he won't do more those mistakes.   5. Scholars Day On Scholars Day you get in any skill the normal experience times p. That applies even for overall. So overall is the normal experience times p². 1) What skill to train on at this day? (measuring the experience) I abbreviate exp1 = normal experience in skill1 and exp2 = normal experience in skill2. Let's assume you have to decide between to skills: skill1 and skill2. The relation between both is a = exp1 / exp2 -> exp1 = a * exp2 To compare the exp you get, i assume that you do the one skill at scholars day, and the other skill after that until you get the same amount of experience like you would have goten when you did the second skill at scholars day. So in any case you will get p*exp1 in skill1 and p*exp2 in skill2. The interesting thing now is the different overall experience: 1. Possibility: When you do skill1 at scholars day and skill2 after that you get: oa exp(1) = p² * exp1 + p * exp2 oa exp(1) = p² * a * exp2 + p * exp2 2. Possibility: When you do skill2 at scholars day and skill1 after that you get: oa exp(2) = p² * exp2 + p * exp1 oa exp(2) = p² * exp2 + p * a * exp2 Let us analyze the relation s (for smartness :>)between both: s = oa exp(1) / oa exp(2) s = (p² * a * exp2 + p * exp2) / (p² * exp2 + p * a * exp2) s = (p * a + 1) / (p + a) Let's look at the different cases: s >= 1 <=> p * a + 1 >= p + a <=> p * a - a >= p - 1 <=> a * ( p - 1) >= p - 1 <=> a >= 1 So s < 1 implices a < 1 Conclusion: 1. When a >= 1 (exp1 >= exp2), you should do skill1. 2. When a < 1 (exp1 < exp2), you should do skill2. Now i try to determine the range of s. Therefore i look at the border cases of a: a = 0: s = (p * 0 + 1) / (p + 0) = 1 / p 1/a = 0: s = (p * a + 1) / (p + a) s = a * ( p + 1/a ) / a * ( 1/a * p + 1) s = (p + 1/a) / ( 1/a * p + 1) = (p + 0) / (0*p + 1) = p/1 = p => s in [1/p;p] Conclusion: 1. s and 1/s are maximal p (that's the case if you are specialist in 1 skill) 2. s = 1 <=> exp1 = exp2 (that's the case if you are generalist). This means you have no benefit of this article because you get the same experience. 3. Specialists have a greater benefit of following this article 2) What skill to train on this day? (measuring the costs) I abbreviate cost1 = costs for 1 exp in skill1 and cost2 = costs for 1 exp in skill2. The relation c is cost1/cost2. At Scholars day you get p*exp1 in skill1 with only cost1*exp1 costs. That means you 'earn' (p-1)*cost1*exp1 if you do skill1 and (p-1)*cost2*exp2. The relation between those both 'sallaries' i gonna call e: e = (cost1*exp1) / (cost2*exp2) = (c*cost2*a*exp2) / (cost2*exp2) = c*a Conclusions: 1. Look at the costs AND the experience/hour. Exactly informations about your personal exp/hour and costs/exp are necessary to decide well :-) Feel free to complain Beol
  6. Find the new NPC contest

Zyrilik - looks very similar to Blaze Bayley, the Iron Maiden singer 1994-1998 :>
  7. Todays Invasion

Solarstar: i went skf and nrm too. here my screenshot: http://beol.hostzi.com/screens/defexp_full.JPG ok, Snowghost got more ;< Best invasion (because of best experience) I ever got! THX!
  8. No Ermabwed. So you will get in both skills the same amount of experience, nevermind if you do skill1 on scholars day and skill2 AFTER that, or skill2 on scholars day and skill1 after that. I assumed that so i could compare better which skill should be done on scholars day. The difference after that is not in the skill experiences, but in the overall experience. Edits: Here a screenshot for it: @Solarstar: what dont you understand yet? :>
  9. EMU

Will is attribute which gives lowest combat lvl. And compared to e.g. instinct, it helps even if you are far beyond the recommended lvls for a creature. So it is not useful for 'normal' fighters. But ii think that some fighters have use for will =) Greetz Beol
  10. a/d gab

48/101 here. I think MiiX is still a bit better. Like 39/97. But attack experience is 'ok' for me since invasions/instances are fun and they give attack exp :> Here my little photo collection: http://beol.hostzi.com/screens/ Greeetz Beol

    aravinth - 10k diamonds, 10k emeralds thx
  12. Looking for Training Advice

I agree with Dipi. Just look at the a/d lvls of the next training mobs: Female orcs: 50/30 -> more def exp Male orcs: 60/40 -> more def exp Polar bear: 55/50 -> more def exp Trolls: 60/25 -> more def exp Grizzly bear: 65/30 -> more def exp Ogres: 70/50 -> more def exp ... Ah wait, of course you can do uber-training on: Hobgoblins: 36/40 -> more att exp But forget this one, they are quite strong for their lvl (and have almost the same ignore lvl like ogre) Well, all training monsters give more def exp than att exp. And if you get more def exp, that would mean you get even more def exp because you reach higher def lvls earlier. The only way out of this cycle is to get too high coordination or too high reasoning, and both (especially coordination) destroys your training
  13. Looking for Training Advice

In my opinion you should go to female orcs (since you have enough def for it). In 1-2h you have that level to fight them easily .. so dont care about the few more essences you need -> free magic exp And in my opinion it does matter much much more how much exp / hour you get. Resources (like HEs) are very low cost compared to the saved time :-)
  14. Trading strike

It has nothing to do with Holar/pepa imho. I think only those gold farming attack nerdz are responsible for that because they are almost the only source of gc (or have you seen someone lately harvesting BL in PL??) And the only thing those mob killer need are weapons+armor (--> stones). So it is quite logical to see the price raising for those things. And i understand why YOU want that price to be lower, so that you have more coins left to buy pp's or whatever. Distribute Holar! Go sell him everything Greetings Beol
  15. City building

Instead of paying gc, you could require the "builders" to pay ressources which are mostly used to build a house: Nails, Yew, Gypsum, Steel bars, ... But this in large quantities so that it is really something worth to own a house. I think that there is not even a mayor necessary for the city. After some time there might exist even some little bigger buildings, like walls and towers. As long as only special persons have access to "their" doors (and maybe the buddys of the door-owner), you could implement even some real advantages for house-owner: like an own cave with diamonds, or a range where you can quick-cook meat, ... Of course all this advantages have to be VERY expensive and the advantage shouldnt be more than 1-2% compared to normal players. Ok, that's my cent to this nice idea of player-built cities
  16. Morvo and dahacka

Hi dear moderators, It is me, Morvo, who writes that: Morvo and dahacka got banned for multi playing. I am sorry for that! In the moment as we traded i havent been aware that it might be against the rules. The reason is simple: dahacka played not only himself, but me (Morvo) as well, for some months. The specific reasons are in a previous thread (http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=50252). Nearly a week ago, I asked him if i could get my character back and he accepted. I can't describe how happy I have been in that moment, because I did great (criminal) efforts to get him back. But obviously earned dahacka with my char Morvo a lot of money. After giving him back to me, he asked me if i could give him some money, which he earned with him. In the first moment I refused, but then he said that I would be like noone else, because I would rob him too. But mercy kept me from keeping all the money, so I gave him back a decent amount of money and stuff (worth probably 500kgc). You can check via IP, that I was not him, and he not me^^ In my and dahacka's name, we really excuse us for our behaviour and our recklessness. Sincerly Morvo & dahacka
  17. New Combat Level formula

Ok, i misunderstood it. Out of these words i read following: 1 reaction = 1 defence 1 defence = 2 toughness 1 reasoning = 1 attack 1 attack = 2 might According to this you would have to weight 1 Attack(/Defence) like 2 Might+1 Reasoning (/2 Toughness+1 Reaction) So my point is still the same =)
  18. New Combat Level formula

Korrode, as far as i know, 2 reaction would be equal to 1 defence level and 2 dexterity is equal to 1 attack level. BUT Defence and Attack provide also extra armor / damage. With your calculation (PvE) 2 reaction = 1.5 combat lvl's 1 defence = 0.75 combat lvl's (although it should be even higher than 1.5!!) So my suggestion is to calculate 1 reaction = 0.375 (as well as dexterity). You might say that 2 reaction is equal to 1 defence, but just with the advantage of NOT getting less experience. (1 defence you know = 1 less def exp) But you want to indicate the strength and not the "training value" of those attributes and levels And if you want to start to give "damage" also some value, you should continue with counting armor + weapon too, what would be really good imo!!
  19. Morvo and dahacka

I have an ip ban for more than 2 months. I would like to know when i get rid of that Thx! i really regret my old behaviour!
  20. Hi, i started to make a "def pure" character (a/d 33/59 now) It is quite easy to get something like that (quickly).. Just two rules: #1 Get as low dexterity as possible #2 There are no other rules..try to balance it yourself At the beginning i took 8 coord and 8 instinct and the rest in Physiques. Now i have 12 coord and 16 instinct. Here just which creatures to do when: Def 16: Wolves Def 23: Goblins Def 33: Gargoyles Def 41: Female Orcs Def 51: Male Orcs/Trolls Def 57: Male Ogres ... One disadvantage was that i had to stay longer on a creature than normal, probably 2 def lvls...because bad attack lvl means less overall experience, less pickpoints, worse stats.. So far the "guide" for training..but even more interesting is to spend pickpoints. There are many things where you can spend them: 1) Get higher physiques / higher vitality 2) Get higher coordination / higher instinct 3) Get higher will 4) Get the Evanescence perk So, but how to balance all those?! I use the indicator "costs for training". For this i calculate a simple percentage how much less i have to spend. 1) Get higher physiques / higher vitality 4 pickpoints will give you ~1.4 armor. The percentage is increasing proceeding. Eg you get basically 10 damage -> 8.6 -> 7.2 -> 5.8 -> ... That would mean something like: get as much of that as you can! There is just one limit: many ppl say that phys/vit 48/24 is enough, because after that you will get only "blocks" instead of low damage. But blocks give amazing ZERO EXP! So better spend some more in 2) 2) Get higher coordination / higher instinct This is a bit hard to determinate. I would suggest to balance it when you fight. Be sure, you have normal astros (or even skeptic). When you fight a monster, there it can happens that: -> You never hit him + he hits you quite often : Increase your coordination slightly (eg by 2) -> You dodge very seldomly: Increase your instinct (by 2 or by 4) 3) Get higher will This part is quite interesting because many fighters are neglecting "will". (A note: because i said that we want to get as low dexterity as possible, we stay at 4 reasoning ) ... Good, we assume that we have 45 magic. That would mean ~(100+will*2.5) hp restored Increasing will from 4 to 8: Healing 120 instead of 110 -> 9% less costs!!!! Increasing will from 8 to 12: Healing 130 instead of 120 -> 8,3% less costs!!!! Increasing will from 12 to 16: Healing 140 instead of 130 -> 7,7% less costs! Increasing will from 16 to 20: Healing 150 instead of 140 -> 7,1% less costs.. .. to be continued by your calculator On lower magic levels the percentage is even higher, for example magic 21, will from 4 to 8: Healing 72 instead of 62: 16% less costs!! \o/ One little other effect at will 8,20,32 and 44: your rationality is dividable by 3 --> 1 exp more in fighting skills. On lower monsters the exp gain is quite high (like 1-2%) but on higher levels it can be neglected 4) Get the Evanescence perk In 3) we have seen that the cost loss gets less. There is another possibility of lowering the costs: The Evanescence Perk :-) You get 10% less costs after taking it.. and that for only 5 pickpoints! Before you raise will from 12 to 16, you should really consider about taking it! You will get more frequently defence experience!!!! :-) Ok, this are my 4 pickpoint investments. When you have some other nice possibilites, feel free to write. And when you want to complain: "low att is n00bish", then do it Here a short list of advantages of getting higher def than att: getting more def experience per hour! Imo the def lvl is significant for someone to be able to move on to the next creature getting even more def experience!!! Ever multi'ied some creatures? It is awesome exp! But when you kill them too quickly, it is hard to get them close enough again :/ (when you like multi'ing you should consider about taking There is no Fork!) high EMU and high HP even on low lvls. So you are even able to wear no CoL until your magic lvl is 55 (then you would restore too much, so better wear CoL^^) lower costs! Or do you have def 59 with just magic 24?, if yes pm me!! Training with sword 0wns! When you never hit normally, you will hit seldom with sword. So buy an Eagle Wing and you are 6 lvls in front of anyone else with same def lvl Steel long works of course as well. At least +2 def As i dont want to justify myself that this is TEH GUIDE for fighting..here the disadvantages: really bad for pk or pvp! lower profit as you dont kill your monsters that quickly, but remember, the better a creature is for training, the worse drops you receive! you might have to invest some additional time to get some money for HEs/SRs although with fighting for example trolls you get even good money (i went to trolls for def lvls 53-55) That's it :-) Feel free to complain. Beol P.S.: The title is leant to the topic: http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=51242 which is in my oppinion non-sense
  21. A more serious way of building char

That is what i said. But when you NEVER hit your opponent, a bit coordination has the same effects as instincts, just with one positive aspect: -you can carry more As long as you increase your coordination ONLY when you really NEVER hit :-) Otherwise you kill too quickly
  22. Different way of building char

And can you make a guide how to reach overall 88 to get Phys/Vit 48/48 >.< Investing couple of months for such a shhh is not worth it sry! Your overall experience / hour is much worse than normal training. When you have a/d 40/20 with this build and full phys and full vit, you have a combat level of 114 ... killing together with a normal fighter some mobs for profit (eg Yeti's) will suck, because YOU get attacked, although you are far away from being a good tank. But nevermind. Happy killing Edit: Just one thought: The perk "Fatal man" should work probably good on this build. And if you think about raising def lvl too, try "Evanescence". You will get very nice def exp through those high lvl creatures
  23. Morvo and dahacka

Yes, sorry. But would you refuse to play an older character when someone would give him back to you?! :< Should I let this character rot or what? Well, i see that i am not right, like always before >.< Hurra, starting again a new char, obviously I am used to that.
  24. New Skill - Animal Instinct

Well, you could solve it also like that: Every 5000th bunny drops a "trait card" or whatever. Using this gives you the special trait. To get his old trait you must use the "human trait card" which is a random harvest event :-) The main problem of your idea is to balance it. Those traits shall be nice, but neither overstrong nor too weak. And if i heard it correctly: You want traits for any animal kind..wow thats a lot of balancing work..good lucK! You must know, many player play EL because it is like it is.
  25. i broke the rule "no hacking"

Hi, i left EL some months ago. A "friend" asked me to give him my char so he can play. I accepted. Trying to log in some months later, I have seen that he changed the password of MY character. Well, desperate times invoke desperate measures, so i started to try to get my password back on an "unappropriate" way. I broke rule #18 just maybe in the point, that i interfered the transmissions. BUT i didnt try to hack someone elses character. I am sorry for having done this, but i have seen no other way. I did many mistakes (giving out password, hack-trials, ...), and i am sorry! It just overwhelmes me how easily i can loose all my chars :-( Well, something else to notice: When I read rule #18 until the end, it is obvious that my "friend" broke also the rules. I want ask you admins why could he change my password? Aislinn said me that Entropy wouldnt change passwords when the char is used by multiple IPs... but how could my password be changed?? Nevermind. I am sorry for what i've done. My fortune is in your hands. Algavo (alias Discipulus/Morvo)
