Economy seems fine to me. If I work hard and save, I make money. Quite a decent amount actually. When I'm too lazy to work, I don't make money. No problems here.

The next treasure hunt has begun!!. Somewhere a hyperbag has been dropped containing 100,000 gold coins. A map was drawn showing the location of this treasure and split into 16 pieces. Most of these pieces have been given out to various players in EL. The list of players is posted below. If you find any of these players while they're online then just ask and they'll show you their piece of the map. You must ask them in local chat or they won't answer you. Once you think you know where the treasure is hidden, grab some skeleton keys and start digging. Some of the pieces haven't been given out to any players. Once every day I will post one of the extra map pieces in this thread so check back each day to receive a free piece of the map. Whoever finds the treasure must immediately reply here saying that you've discovered the treasure. This way people won't waste skeleton keys on a prize that has already been found. That also means you should probably check this post before you start using any skeleton keys when you get to the location. Failure to post if you find the prize will result in being prevented in participating in the next treasure hunt and possibly other future contests of mine. If you ask someone to show you the map and they are AFK then you will be PMed (or sent a gossip message) when they get back to the computer so be patient if you don't get an answer from an AFK player with a map piece. The people with map pieces will just be going about their normal routine and sometimes that means walking away from their computer while in-game so don't get upset if you don't get an immediate reply. You don't need to have to whole map to look for the treasure. If you think you know where it is with the pieces you have collected then go for it! Guilds and groups forming teams will probably have the best chance for finding the treasure but that also means splitting the prize and getting less gold so it's up to you if you want to go after the treasure as a group or as an individual. I expect it may take a few days before anyone has enough pieces to find the treasure so even if you're late getting this announcement, it probably isn't too late to join in and start searching. you can open your chat logs in the EL data folder. the next map is already made and being split up now. the next treasure is already hidden. might start the hunt sooner than 2 days so keep an eye out in this forum (not this thread, I will start a new one)

Amazing. I would never have believed that someone would find it that quickly. The next 2 hunts are already being planned. I will post later today with the information for the next race in about 2 days. A slight change on my end is going to guarantee a min of 2 days before the treasure is found Congratz!

Congratz MagpieLee. This was definately a successful test The next map, with 16 pieces, has already been created and the prize for the next treasure hunt will be at least 100kgc. Keep and eye out in the events forum in a couple days for the official announcement of the start of the next hunt!

If you miss us then you'll just have to hope you see us again later. You can always get a couple friends and work together to get the map and split the prize if you're worried you won't be online enough to find everyone

What about just using a date/time stamp for the filename?

If Raven5 was fighting the Ogre and Lara went after the Troll or Raven5 was fighting the Troll and Lara went after the Ogre then that would be fine but Lara decided to fight the Troll WHILE Raven5 was in the middle of a fight with it and then started fighting the Ogre WHILE Raven5 was in the middle of that fight. Lara didn't go fight the OTHER monster. Lara went after the SAME monster that was already engaged in combat with Raven5.

It doesn't matter what weapon you're using or what level your character is. If someone is fighting a monster and you come along and attack the same monster then you're serping. If that person then moves off to another monster and you folllow and then kills that monster too, it's serping again.

Noticed something odd today. Happend 3 times. I am sitting on the bench by the Wraith facing east. Each time I lag (Resync with the server...) the screen goes black for a moment and when the image comes back I am sitting facing north. Stood up, turned back to the east and sat down again only to find myself facing north with the next resync.

We do use the guild chat in my guild and I'd have to say that if it reached a point where I actually needed to mute someone to keep them from talking in the guild channel then we've probably reached a point where they don't belong in the guild and would be booted out instead of being muted.

You can also open your options (ctrl-o), select the details tab and turn off shadows.

The Big Bag Race was such a huge success that I'm doing it again. This next one will be even bigger, with more prizes and much better chance for new players to win some goodies. All locations posted in the next race will be rated with 1 to 5 stars. This will give the racers an idea of the value and possible prizes in those bags. This way the uber players can avoid chasing after the bags that they don't care for and allow the new users a chance to get these items without a swarm of veteran players beating them to the prizes. Below I've listed the ratings with the kinds of prizes found with each one. This list will change and grow over time as we get close to race day but it gives you a bit of an idea how things will work. A limit on the number of prizes that a participant can find may also be placed on the race. So, if someone find 5 or maybe 10 bags then they have to drop out and give others a chance to win. I am also going to try to see if this can be done in one long race over a 24 hour period! I don't expect to hold this race for at least 2 months and hope that during that time we will receive a lot of donations in order to make this happen. Anyone who wants to donate to the race can contact me online. Gold is preferrable since it can be used to purchase the needed items or to use as a prize itself. If you're going to donate an item, try to make it something that is in the list below (many many more things will be added so check back often). It really was a great event and I'm glad so many people turned out. I will be posting the list of prize winners soon but it may be a couple days.
