Nathan , imo since the advent of the market being run by bot owners , nobody is willing to undersell and why should they if they have paid RL $ for a bot service, they want something to show for that $ I remember pointing out bot control of EL economy and nobody believed me ( most vehemently denied in fact - bots running the market ? they cant possibly be running the market because players control them - well its the same shit different means ), but these days its common courtesy to check the price of the cheapest bot before you buy or sell anything , lost count of how many times someone said ''wait let me check bot price '' when doing a deal I think if people want to see something start happening with prices on rare items ( since nobody likes paying the relative price for thier armors or COL's ) the bot owners need to get together on thier section of the forum and do the right thing, control the market the opposite way but again, GL with that , EL community working together is like asking a warehouse full of 2 year olds to tidy up thier shit, not gonna happen and even if 2-3 do, the other 470 make a mess again

couldnt the PP you get from NCP be tagged somehow ? and make it non removable with nexus stone? would still allow for genuinely misplaced nexus to be removed, perhaps even consider the NCP pickpoint a completely seperate pickpoint from normal ones to make it easier to tag. IDK, not a programmer here so not sure how difficult this would be but it would seem like a complete fix for the whole PP buying situation.

i thought that too but if you consider the cost of a/d HE SRS and such , for all of EL to do twice as much a/d in one day as it usually takes to do 2 , its not overpriced really ... i hope to god ive been reading right and the stone is a world event, this way it wont turn into a cash for a/d fest but if it does whatever more power to the El shop

while perhaps a more visually stunning UI would in the short term grab someones attention, I dont personally believe its the deal breaker here. imo having sampled a few MMO's the only issue I might point out is the overall difficulty of the game. Im not saying its a bad thing, however I am saying that with this level of difficulty ( let me list a few examples - the mere basic equipment for a new player -- MM cape , harvest cape , some decent armor **yes it does help ** can be overwhelmingly expensive ) the kind of player you are going to retain is one who enjoys the long haul. with the explosion of east asian MMo's in all shapes and genres that are constantly advertised on the web , what you get is a game that gives you fast results i.e you get to use your big shiny swords right away, you can cast impressive offensive spells right away , you move from creature to creature relatively fast. the type of player ( hundreds of thousands of them ) who enjoy these fast paced MMO's arent going to want to invest the time that EL takes. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing considering the community ( lol I said it ) that EL has built up ... everyone knows everyone ( even if they never really speak ) , but perhaps what could be done, instead of putting more decoration upon an allready uneaten cake, is to make the new cake taste sweeter. example : do something about the prices of rare ingredients, I know the hardcore oldies use words like inflation and times change and player controlled but do you think new players give a fuck about that? nope they just see the 30kgc price tag for a rosto and think - holy shit. perhaps find a way to encourage the early use of offensive spell casting, without some sort of ''penalty'' or '' gc sink'' , casting spells is fun increase the break rates of armors but also in turn increase the find rate of rare ings substantially bring teh horses and other mounts back into the game, theyre fun, but again, try to bring them back without some sort of penalty , horses are fun, mounts are fun, make more mounts, big dogs, over sized cats, hell even a horse drawn carriage ? I played guild wars for awhile , the storyline was OK for a game - the quests has the excalmation marks over thier heads , it was all pretty easy to acess plus no matter which class you chose you had access to ass kicking weapons ( that you needed to use) right from the start. And you regularly got drops for more weapons and armors ect. Im not saying EL needs these aspects, and I understand after 4 years of playing its not about instant gratification ( hell just gossip my levels ), but yeh I have to agree there are certain aspects of modern day MMO's that do have a more player friendly feel to them. EL isnt anymore of a grindfest than any other game imo, but it isnt as kind to its players either. I still enjoy EL , still enjoy wandering around with no particular game plan, resetting trying different things ... but as to it being unfriendly to new players, I agree.

did nobody notice that the moment the guy logged in, Radu is sat at the tutorial NCP talking to a newb about the tutorial quest .......... if this reviewer is so observational perhaps he would have noticed the creator of the game sat within 6 tiles of him talking a new player thru the basics .......

I don't get it. You mean there are not lots of fighters who can take dragons 1v1? perhaps the analogy took me away from my main point which is that instead of applying a bandage, such as a ranging ward to ward of those full AP archers, perhaps something to do with the overall power of the AP should be adressed. But its only an opinion its not like i'm saying im right or anything. If its the the power of the max AP thats trying to be adressed why not adress it directly.

surely Perception should play a major part in the blocking / dodging of an arrow , after all if you cant see it coming you dont stand a chance but tbh after watching a few youtube videos of ranging in KF perhaps the AP are over powered to begin with, and the root cause should be adressed instead of the after effect bandaged i know its slightly off topic but to prove my point its said a stand alone fighter should not be able to take down a dragon alone, yet a stand alone ranger with full AP is perfectly fine?
