Agreed on that one Xena, Been here for years.......and then some, and have seen alot come and go, I have made a home here, and here is where i plan on being regardless of the "outlook of affairs" Stay around long enough and you will see changes come and go, people come and go, but all in all its worth every bit of it.

Well I voted YES... I been playing this game almost since it was released for public, and I jumped at the idea of P2P (lifetime) without hesitation. And I will ofcourse pay RL cash for the added benefits that ultimately are decided on by Ent. All those that cant or simply will not pay for the FULL experience of this great game can just like it or lump it IMHO. If a person pays to play the game then rightfully he/she should expect a little something for his/her support of the game. Afterall that is the concept right...lol hence the tittles PAY 2 PLAY.....GOLDMEMBER ect... I fully support this idea and will support this game for as long as I draw a breath. EL addict for life! I would like to see some more stuff from the tailoring skill that would be more or less for looks. The clothes are really cool and I really dig my purple pimp suite, however I would like to add a cain to it just to set off the pimpness of my duds..;p I am sure there are several other things folks could think of as well. I know there are alot of us that dont do much but harvest and build the things that keep EL turning about on its axis! So while the new armors and stuff are really cool for those who use them, those of us who dont wanna look pimp as well. How about it?

OK... so i am just a bit behind the times... Been gone to Iraq on deployment for 15months.. Clean install of the OS... Clean install of the client. about a million updates to everything on my ol comp... the most important being the updated ATI drivers and I am In Game. Thank you all so much for your time and for all you suggestions. Suppose i should have thought of the obvious first but the first thing I did was to just try and jump on server (thus prooving my addiction to this great game) just as well, the end result is another Happy El player. Thanks all. next time just smack me and say hey..you been gone for a while.... maybe u should try to update your old system. LOL

Did the disable music thing as suggested... still nothing. Right after i log in the client crashes and I get the send an error report screen as normal. Thanks for the suggestions though. I am gonna get this worked out if i have to buy an entire new system to play on. It may be that my comp is just out of date for the new client. I had no troubles running the client before i got deployed to Iraq for 15 months.. Its only now that i have come home that it wont run. It runs fine on my laptop.....unfortunatly I dropped my laptop in Kuwait on the way home a few days ago and I now have 2000 dollar paper weight..lol

When I go through (/my documents/eternal lands/main/) I dont find any el.ini file in there. All I have there is a Temp folder, conection_log, infos.old(as an unknown type that cant be opened), srv_log, chat_log, infos, and infos.old (as a text doc. that can be opened). In order for me to find the el.ini that contains the info u speak of I have to go through the C:/programfiles/eternal lands/. When i look in the file that contains the config settings(el.ini) after a complete re-install of the client it sets the #data_dir = as #data_dir = "d:\Eternal Lands" That is definately not where i installed the game to. So i change it to point to c:\Program Files\Eternal Lands\". That is where the game is located. I would like to send a copy of my el.ini so someone so it can be looked over to see if anything else is out of the ordinary. I could post it here in this thread but it would be a really long post ya know. I really dont know WTH is going on and I am only so computer friendly if u know what i mean. I have been playing EL almost since it was brand new and I really wish to get back in game ASAP.

Hello there fellow EL citizens.. Xodian of BanE would love to beg a favor of a willing person. Here is the situation... I have been deployed to Iraq now for about 4 months. We finally got a wireless internet connection here where i am at now, unfortunatly there are so many people trying to use so little bandwidth that each time i try to DL the new version of EL my connection will time out and the DL will not complete. I am about to go crazy over here as it is being away from home and all... but life without my EL fix i just dont know if i can handle that for the remainder of my tour..... If someone would please DL the new version and put it on a disc for me and mail it over here I would be greatly appreciative. Really u have no idea how much u really enjoy something untill it is not available to u anymore. I been playing EL now for a number of years and i hear that there are so many new things on the latest RC. From what i understand the Devs have really outdone themselves.....yet again i might add. Anyway thats my story... if u wanna help me out please post and let me know.

Well so far... I have tried to DL the manager and still no joy... i am telling ya the internet sucks over here.. really bad. But the good news is i should have a copy of the latest client in the mail to me now.. hopefully will be here in a week or so, depending on the snail mail ya know. Once i get it i will surely check in.. Hell i cant remeber where i put myself to sleep at...lol hope it was a safe place.. See you all in game in a few.

Most excellent.. I will try the DL manager first and hope for the best... If not i sure do appreciate Learner for hookin me up.. I am not sure how EL will run but imagine the loads of ore i could harvest while i was away from home.... probably wont be able to do much else.. just harv and chat.. but that will be enough i suppose...

Anshar... I would say do not let the ranting of the few outway the gratitude of the many.. I for one think it was a gr8 contest. And do appreciate all the time and effort put forth into making such entertaining things for the masses. Come on guys, After all.... it was just a contest.. the rules were simple.. and such a contest should not have to spell out the dangers of its nature. The very essence of it says.... hey u may die.. u may break / loose your shit. I would say deal with it as it is and carry on. No sence bashing the creators of the show since it didnt turn out like u wanted. And as for the well... I could have killed it in hours with poison...sheesh man get real.. fact is u didnt kill it... and the other guys did. Quit whinning about it.. drink water... drive on. hooah!

Was a gr8 contest.... Grats to all the contestants... Specially to those who put up a gr8 fight for our EL entertainment. You have to give props to Toomass for making a hella showing.... Gr8 job man! Only thing i can think of that may have made an improovment on the contest is that maybe it could have started at first light in game time, so the audience could have seen all of the battle. Once night time hit there were times when all u could see was an empty arena. That about sums up all i got to say... Again Grats to all the contestants. And thanks for puttin on such events for our EL entertainment!

Once again u have impressed me with the developments and improovements to a gr8 thing. The fact that the devs play as well in game makes this a neverending story. Hats off guys, a job well done! I to would like to know what defines a mule type character... I train all skills with the exception of summoning..lol just never got into it. A/D/P/C in the upper range ofcourse as is most all skills, but my emu is high as well (820 emu and climbing), high enough that i am wondering how the perameters of these event have been set up. Not to say that i will quit harvesting or anything cause the other stones are very nice as well, and face it to make it in other skills u simply have to harvest materials to train with. But i would like to know if i am ruled out of getting these wonderous stones because of the way they were implemented in game. This is not a bitch post in any fashion, dont get me wrong! If i am ruled out of harvesting them i will come about them a different way. This is simply for clarification, and to give me definate direction to advance onward.. Thx XO

12k on a medallion that breaks so easily...humm mine broke after only 3 harv sessions. i did get a few blessings out of it but not to the tune of 12kgc... maybe the break rate should be looked at. Just my opinion

i dont know about all the fancy server trace talk, not that comp lit i suppose, but getting disconnected every 5 mins is annoying for sure. hope this ends soon!
