    I can see your point, but the game was not developed to be easy for bots, the protocols seem to be lean and fast, and sending item id's would mean you ALSO need to send image ID"s as well, unless you kept an updated lookup table on the client. That would change other protocols, and just add to thier bandwidth cost and bulkiness. I've had multiple issues with syncing LOOK_AT_ITEM calls, especially after a trade, sometimes my bot thinks he has as many tit shields as he has gold coins. I'm re-writing my whole bot framework to deal with some of these issues more intelligently and add some new capabilities, but expecting the game to adapt so that it's easier to code against is not realistic, especially when it drains other things like bandwidth resources.

    You got the store credit for free anyway! You lost nothing you didn't have before! Tis better to have worn a tiara and lost it, then never to have worn one at all?
  3. I'm interested in how resources running out temporarily and respawning elsewhere would ruin the economy? I think it would be cool if only a fraction of the resources worked at once. Say you have 20 or 30 of those silver ore stone objects at a location. on the server side, does each stone have it's own id? if so, you could make each stone 'Run out' independantly, and when it does, a different stone gets re-activated elsewhere, possibly even on a different continent. if everyone uses MM all the time, those ore objects would always be running out, and would entice people to use other resources elsewhere, spreading out the balance of closest to storage against chance of it running out because of the 'harvesting traffic' in the area.

    isn't it harder to manage and update the PK server if so much of it diverges from the main server? IMO the smallest amount of differences possible would be best. And DON"T Delete the Branch!

    I love it! Great idea! I would sign up for an account! and i agree that this will leave room for more 'normal' players to enjoy the pk areas on the current server.
  6. After 180 level

    Perhaps rather then going to 64 bit programming, ent could add a new class of skill to supercede the old one. Like i you get the max in attack, you get a new skill named somethign else, like combat that replaces it and inheritly includes your 180 level when things related to that skill are calculated. 0-180 attack, then changes to level 0 combat, 0-180 combat to ??? would require changes so that those with combat get less exp following the same scale, but it would elimiate the need to reprogram everything without a cap.
  7. Without going into too much detail, i bring no tele ess, i walk the lava and use 4 he's and ONLY 4 so that i do not need to drop any items to make room for the first harvest. The rings are just handy and keep me safe from attackers. It's ok to question if someone photoshopped something, but at least have a good case when you do.

    i like the idea, but think the amounts of damage should be very small, or based on a modifier, like one half of your magic level plus 3

    That's your opinion. Others would say differently. EL's always being tweaked, and there's always folks who complain, and always folks who enjoy the changes. Just because quests are a priority doesn't mean that the "EL Community" shares that. My personal preference would be to see some improvements to the quest system too, but I'm sure not many people share that opinion, and I won't go creating a thread saying "change it or i'll leave!". Now that I see the features that the programmers have been working on, i'd much rather have the astrology system than a better quest system, I'd rather have engineering, and the new engineering weapons, and saving stones, and the awesome new invasion system that includes dragons, and all kinds of stuff that adds so much more to the game then a few more quests. Even if more quests were implemented, some folks would complain because either the quests require a level too high, or are not challenging enough at thier level. There's only so much time in the day, and the latest features were time well spent for a majority of the players.

    Nothing wrong with being obsessed about the gaming industry, takes a quarter-lifetime of dedication to learn the technology and be able to apply it, and watching others who live in the same industry have thier realms crash to the ground is certainly worth pointing your fingers at. ah-ha!

    I'm trading Hydro ores for s2e's at a rate of 10 hydro ores per 11 s2e's. I currently have 60 hydro ores for trade this way. 66 S2e's takes them all.   18. New client menu mock-up

    A key to create a semi-transparent popup menu that hovers around the mouse X-Y at the time the key is pressed is a great idea. I also wonder if the menu could be created based on an XML file that dictates the hierarchy and grouping of the commands so that new commands can be added easily, such as other commands that are not currently part of the conversation that players may like to add.

    Lots of really good points, and the disabling of magic items seems like a good compremise. I am also astonished by the number of really pissed off people who hate this idea, perhaps if there was something that was a single use item that fighters could use to protect themselves? Spell of EMP Protection (protects from 1 EMP blast, then protection is lost) Stone of Magnetism (Protects from 1 EMP blast per 5 minutes) Gravity Ankh - Manufacturable under Engineering Skill (If an EMP goes off, the EMP user takes ?? damage and the Gravity Stone is Destroyed, no magical items are lost) OR Gravity Ankh (Whenever an EMP goes off, your magical items cooldown instead of break. Gravity Ankh must be work as a medallion and can break in combat or by BrOD)

    Voted Yes, Love this idea! Wouldn't change a thing, but maybe increase the ingredient value. 300gc is low IMO, but i'd be happy having this at ANY price!

    Is there really no proof? I've not spent much time watching sports, but haven't other players claimed this guy has done steroids? If there's no proof, then the record is rightfully his, but I still think that Hank Aaron is a class above this guy, and Bonds will never have the respect of the fans that Hank had.
  22. Legal multi-character cheating

    When a mule is used for muling purposes, the character builds up in skills that make it stand out as a mule to the mods. Let THEM deal with it the way they always have. YOU claim that your multiple players with mules helping each other scenario cannot be detected, but you are underestimating the ability of the Mods to sniff this activity out. The Mods are not algorythems searching for a pattern, they are people, and (without knowing anything about thier tools) they can look for this now that you bring it up. Please, this is the second thread for the same unintelligent idea, just give it up.
  23. Multiplayer cheating

    Not that it matters much, but I think this suggestion lacks understanding of how many people play the game (within the defined rules), and lacks technical understanding to know that htis would not work. There are VALID cases for running 2+ EL windows (think testing on the test server), or LEGAL Multiplay as mentioned previously. You would be punishing LEGAL multiplayers who do not have multiple computers, and Illegal multiplayers will just use another system, or use application virtualization, or a source hack, or a binary patch created by another player. You would be requiring testers on the test server to use multiple computers to to sync up schedules with others to test new game features if they did not have an additional computers that meet the hardware specs to test those features. Please, just leave the cheat detection to the moderators. In my opinion they do an excellent job of keeping out cheaters, and have moderated with mercy for those who promised to no longer cheat. Whatever system they use to handle this now is working IMO, and adding code to block legitimite use reminds me of DRM and the (MP|RI)AA. I don't think it matches the spirit of those who run this game.
