  1. Mage class idea

    Tirun do you pk?
  2. Mage class idea

I disagree, then all PKers will be forced to take high rationality. Less choice in attribute layout, less diversity, the game gets even more boring. If we really can't live without screwing the current magic system, I like the expensive MI removal spell the best. If you have mana, you can recast MI, sounds fair
  3. Mage class idea

If you want a distinctive mage class, this is quite a good idea (personally I don't want that strict classes).
  4. Auctioning pack of ICE DRAGON SCALE

    Armor stats?
  5. Introduction to C2

I think the way to C2 should be less hidden than it is, since C2 is a part of the game for a really long time. How about nuking that hut & rocks and marking "To Irilion" on WS map?
  6. There was a recent thread in abuse section depicting issues between the lead developer and some players. Apparently, that thread got deleted. On that thread, I've even supported Entropy, so I'm no biased "dissident". But is it really a good solution to delete it? In that thread, some players accused moderators of hiding and covering up previous incidents as well. Now it will be one more point to remember for them. More anger. Wouldn't it be better to present problems in the game society instead of trying to escape from them? And by recognizing problems, improve ourselves. I know one can point me that in other ("competing" ) games, forums are polished even more to look perfect. But so are newspapers in North Korea. I believe one of the strong points of EL is communication between the developers and the players. Even if it's not perfect, it's much better than none. I suggest resurrecting the mentioned thread, if possible (maybe cleaned from some flames and Mexican drama, but still presenting the topic); and do not delete similar threads in the future.
  7. True. That's what I meant. I really don't suggest to dig up the old problems from 3 years ago As for the recent thread, it may even be locked, since a lot has been discussed. But NOT deleted. Same for future discussions. Of course if posts are meaningless flamebait like "game iz g3tting gay,, ent suxx" they should be deleted. But if people just express their civilised opinions, that should not be deleted. As I said, I am aware other commercial games clean forums even more, but nevertheless I suggest a more open discussion model for EL.
  8. In theory, yes, maybe. In reality player felt offended in public, all players saw the offending post. So it automatically became the subject of public discussions, if not on official EL forums, then on unofficial ones and on other communication media. In reality, moderation IS a topic of public discussion, whether you like it or not. Now, several players and even developers left the game because of incident. I really do not blame Entropy. I have also insulted people worse than that, also not on purpose. We are all humans, it happens. I believe an open discussion would have resulted a better result, hence the suggestion. I only proposed a more open way of dealing with similar problems; if you think I'm wrong, just don't implement it. Same as with all suggestions.
  9. 'mage class' by attribute

I don't like this, all EL aspects use CROSS attributes, why introduce this exception against the game logics?
  10. Level dependent summoning

How come? What I suggest is something like, for example: Polar bear is summoning lvl 40, lets say I have level 37 (that is my actual level ingame). Bear is att. 55. So I produce bear that has att 55*37/ 40 = 50.875 (rounded down to 50 or whatever rounding scheme is used). If I have level >=80, I produce bear that is attack 110. Same with stones, so to get a full power summon from stone you will need very high summon level since they usually have higher level requirements. For example, to get a full attack yeti from stone you would need summ. 130 (pretty impossible). But at summoning level something like 100 you would get yeti with attack somewhere around 192, that is reasonably high to block anyway. Anyway, if you want strong creatures it would encourage to summon not from stones. The reasoning behind my suggestion is that you shouldn't be summoning level 100 to produce a max. power snake or rat. I didn't cover defense, but it can be calculated in a similar manner as desired
  11. Vote for EL Linux packages

Very nice job bluap!!! Especially if you manage to keep your repo up to date Thx again
  12. I don't like the suggestion. Invisibility is fun. I know it hurts to be bagjumped by invisible lurker while you are trying hard against invasion monsters. But there should be some risks, right? Plus invasions often take place on No Drop Days, so it solves the problem too
  13. Level dependent summoning

Back to the topic, I suggest implementing it somehow differently than absolute ratio (summ lvl./100). This way weak summoners will summon very crappy creatures even if those are bears or goblins. I suggest it would be implemented like, for instance, ATT = creature's. att. level* summoner's level/ reccomended level for summoning, capped at double att lets say. This way, your summons from the stones would be strong if you have sufficient level, for example your spider from stone may be full strength while your giant may be weak. That is, different factors for different summons, makes more sense for me than absolute ratio But generally I like your idea.
  14. Summonable Penguins

More summons, more monsters, more equipment is always good I think developers are working on it, but not a bad suggestion anyway, I like
  15. Combat Level Pk

Personally I dislike your suggestion. I even think, all those limit arenas do more damage than benefit to PK. Nowadays stronger players do not go to PK in hope to get some lower level PvPers or just some extra leathers => less PK I would understand if those arenas would allow lower lvl people enjoying PK without fear, but in practice those arenas are ruled by negged out/TSed alt chars with good equipment. I suggest lifting all limitations. Anyway LeoI, I haven't flamed you last time, just provided my opinion. But now I can't resist... Go to harvest in the caves where you belong to and please leave PK changes to fighters, kk?
  16. Chosen I meant 8x RoP after possible price change not before And harm may not work if one uses magic immunity
  17. Magic Immune

Nice post asgnny!!! To sum it up the ideas I agree with most: magic is not something very intelligent or time consuming, it is just money sink, just buy tons of essences (like Air for MD) and cast lots of spells. Level fast and painlessly (just expensive). We have ranging for people who like that, why make magic second ranging?? As it would become identical - ranged damage by wasting some ings
  18. Magic Immune

debatable for combat cooldowns I agree But I meant manufacturing cooldowns and food system, that I believe was a clear improvement. Before all people just used fruit.
  19. 8 invisible guys around you and all RoP instantly Ok maybe that's fun I take back my previous comments
  20. Magic Immune

Personally I'm not that much against the changes since I play EL very rarely now anyway (just busy in RL). But I suggest sticking to the principle "if it ain't broken, don't fix it". Is PK inactive because of magic immunity? I doubt. Are fights boring and more magic would spice them up? Again I doubt, negative spells are a pretty plain thing to do, just an essence sink. Buy some EMPs, essences and keep clicking mana drain, harm, poison etc. I don't like the idea of separate mage class in EL. I don't pretend to be a super clever game designer, maybe these changes may eventually make the game better. But this would require many more changes than this. All fighters are automatically high level mages, so if you want make a mage class you need to prevent this. Otherwise these changes would only change common combat practices, like all fighters would know what spells to cast often and it would become a routine. All fighters gain high levels because restore gives good magic xp. Change that? or implement some nexus system for magic *cough*? The magic system has already undergone significant change by making spells dependent on rationality, but do you sincerely believe it improved the game? All fighters just take a bit more reasoning to workaround this. Other builds like tank build with full phys/coord/vit are automatically discouraged. Like before, there are a few "good" builds that all people take, not much diversity. Again, I'm no prophet, if you have a clear vision how the game can be improved, go ahead. I remember the introduction of cooldowns and how players opposed it. But later it turned out to be step forward.
  21. Magic Immune

I would say, do not screw magic immunity please, if possible :S If there would be a poll, I vote against
  22. So Kadlub what's your point? Are you happy with item that does 50 dmg and nobody uses it because of its price?
  23. Quote of the week submissions

Well I knew Bahador wasn't pro but didn't think he's such a noob lolz
  24. Spending PP for alch and harvest

Take full P/C, then start increasing will for more HP (sometimes help while harvesting/alching with mushrooms) and more XP. Also you don't fight much, you may take some perks like "I can't dance" or if you fight even less, "Gelatine bones". For harvesting it won't hurt much.
  25. I would vote for increasing damage, be it fixed or based on something. 50 dmg and cooldown is pretty useless even for the reduced formula
